Chanukah

Community Resources: This Hevra has been created over the past two years with volunteers from the Orthodox, Conservative, Reform, Reconstructionist, and non-affiliated Jewish communities. A men's team and a women's team have been trained, and we have liturgy for non-binary and transgender Jews. The pluralistic community nature of our Hevra is one of its defining qualities.  We are offering the beautiful ritual of tahara, the washing and dressing of our deceased, at both Jewish funeral homes, with humility and loving-kindness.
The Community Hevra Kadisha of RI is organized as a non-profit organization, fully insured, and created with the support and guidance of the Rhode Island Board of Rabbis. We do not intend to charge for this service.

Individuals interested in making a donation will find information on our website.

Judy's Kindness Kitchen: One of the premier charitable programs run out of CBS, we're looking to get the community much more involved. Every week, hundreds of meals are prepared at the JCC for those experiencing homelessness, where they are then delivered and served at Crossroads RI.

There are plenty of open volunteer slots for food preparation on Sunday mornings at 8:00 a.m. (until about 9:00) at the JCC. We have an online sign-up list. For more information or any questions, email jkk.cbs@gmail.org

*Please use the drop-down menu (Use this donation for) and select Judy's Kindness Kitchen

Kiddush Volunteer Signup

Because it takes a village to run a shul!

Please sign up for Kiddush set up and clean up. It's minimal work and there are plenty of people who will assist. We need 2 names to "own" kiddush each week so it doesn't fall on the same person every time. There are detailed instructions about what to put out in our storage closet.

Registrations close Wednesday, December 17th, @ 5 pm!

Step into Shabbat with calm, presence, and depth. Join R' Dolinger for a unique offering of Jewish meditation—creating sacred space for embodied and contemplative practice. Through silence, breath, and awareness, we open ourselves to Torah, to spirit, and to one another, embodying Shabbat not only with words and song but with mindful stillness.
