On October 7, 2024 over 125 people, members of Congregation Beth Shalom and other local synagogues, along with some guests, gathered to commemorate the terrible tragedy that befell The Jewish People one year before. We prayed, sang, and lit candles to honor the 1,200 Israelis murdered, 251 taken prisoner, and the whole population of Israel traumatized that day. We stood in solidarity, in grief, and in hope. The Jewish community of the Western Suburbs of Chicago came together for the sake of Israel and to strengthen our ongoing journey of healing and peace. Here is a link to the video from the event for those who were unable to join us. | |

In the spirit of Sukkot and Tikkun Olam, each year we share our abundance with those less fortunate. Keeping with our tradition, we are having a food drive to support the Loaves and Fishes food pantry in Naperville. Please participate as your means allow. As you exit Rosh Hashanah services, you'll be handed an empty grocery bag (thank you to the Naperville Trader Joe's for donating the bags!).
