Chaver Up Book Launch & Discussion
Thursday, April 29, 6:00pm–7:15pm

Rabbi Rick Jacobs, president of the Union for Reform Judaism—the largest and most diverse Jewish movement in North America—and Kohenet Keshira haLev Fife, a queer Jew of Colour and and executive director of Kohenet Hebrew Priestess Institute, joins CBST's Senior Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum and Rabbi Mike Moskowitz, CBST scholar-in-residence for Trans & Queer Jewish Studies, for a blockbuster livestreamed discussion and exploration of allyship.

Commemorating the launch of the new book Chaver Up, in which 49 diverse Jewish spiritual leaders grapple with the complexity, messiness, and human fallibility of allyship, as well as its beauty, holiness, and power to restore good—including writings from each of the evening's participants—the event will include readings of excerpts from Chaver Up and a groundbreaking discussion moderated by Rabbi Kleinbaum.

May George Floyd’s Memory Be a Blessing
"The triple conviction of George Floyd’s killer is the beginning of accountability, and we hope that it brings a small measure of relief to his family, to his community, and to all who have been watching and waiting for this moment.

We send love and blessings especially to our Black and brown family and community members, who we know have been carrying the weight of this for so long. In the end, George Floyd is still dead, and we know that this is only the beginning of much more work that needs to happen.

May George Floyd’s memory be a blessing to everyone who loved him, and may we honor his memory by building on today to create a society that deeply respects and values every human being. Black lives matter, today and every day."

—Rabbi Sharon Kleinbaum

"Mourning into Dancing": CBST's 26th Annual Benefit Concert
Sunday, June 6, 4:00pm
Throughout history, music has served as a primal expression of the human experience, and as a catalyst for resistance and survival. This year's concert will highlight music composed in or about times of strife, honoring the human urge to recast suffering into art. Through diverse instrumental, vocal, and choral works, written across disparate continents and time periods, we honor the courage and resilience of the human spirit and the transformative power of music. Meet-the-Performers Zoom follows the Concert. Experience the transformational power of music & support Music at CBST. Registration opens soon!
