It's time to talk about advance care planning, and CBST is here to help! We're holding one-on-one meetings and group workshops as part of our "What Matters: Caring Conversations About the End of Life" programming. Trained, certified facilitators will help you thoughtfully consider and get on paper your end-of-life healthcare preferences, with opportunities to engage Jewish values along the way. All are welcome!

"In this terrible year, we've come to understand the power of remembering zman simchateynu, that simchah—joy—is an act of spiritual and political resistance. No matter what is happening, we will rejoice in our holidays, we will rejoice in the Torah, we will rejoice in all that we know to be true and decent and kind and good. And that is the teaching of the Torah."

|
"The words of Eitz Chayim, (A Tree of Life) are recited/chanted throughout the year as the Torah is returned to the ark. This liturgy, the conclusion of the Torah ritual, also includes the words of Hashiveinu (Return Us) from the Book of Lamentations—words we sang throughout the month of Elul.
This magnificent setting by gay-American-Jewish composer Jack Gottlieb, highlights the text through jazz-like musical motifs. In this season of rejoicing with the Torah, we sing out: 'It is a tree of life to those who cling to it, and those who uphold it are happy. Return us to you, and we shall return. Renew our days as of old.’”
