Each year during the month of August, Beck Institute offers a workshop covering the fundamentals of cognitive behavior therapy, specifically designed to meet the needs of students and trainees. Graduate students, psychiatric residents, pre-doctoral interns, postdoctoral fellows and other mental health trainees from around the world are invited to join Dr. Judith Beck and adjunct faculty during three days of intensive, experiential training.
On the second day of the workshop, Dr. Aaron Beck answers participants' questions and conducts role plays during a special 90 minute conversation period.

Tuition for the Graduate Student workshop is reduced. Click here for more information and to register.

This year we are also inviting faculty and supervisors to attend for the same special student tuition.

Beck Institute also offers CBT training for mental health professionals on a variety of topics. More information on our various training programs is available here.

We hope to see you in Philadelphia!

Listen to Dr. Aaron Beck describe the new      "Generic Cognitive Model"

In this video, Dr. Beck introduces a recently published article in which he describes an expansion of cognitive theory (Beck, A.T., & Haigh, E.A.P. (2014) Advances in Cognitive Theory and Therapy: The Generic Cognitive Model. Annual Review of Clinical Psychology, 10, 1, 1-24). Dr. Beck posits that while his theory -- originally developed in the 1960s -- remains rooted in the understanding of how people's beliefs influence their perceptions, mood, and behavior, it draws from and has been enriched by contributions from a wide variety of areas and disciplines. Dr. Beck's new theoretical model, the Generic Cognitive Model, provides a template for conceptualizing specific disorders and developing specific case formulations for each disorder.
