Kevin Xu, James P. Morgan Distinguished Professor in the Department of Oceanography & Coastal Sciences, is pinpointing how to manage sediment in Port Fourchon to prevent land loss and improve hurricane preparedness. An expert in developing complex computer models that can simulate and forecast how sediment moves and alters the coast, his work is critical for coastal land loss management.
Three LSU College of the Coast & Environment graduate students and one from Loyola University have been named 2022 Knauss Fellowship finalists!

Congratulations to doctoral student Nazla Bushra, master's student Elsa Gutierrez, and master's student Allyson Kristanall from the Department of Oceanography & Coastal Sciences.
