CC&E Today | October 30, 2019
LSU coastal environmental science student Denise Poveda and her College of the Coast & Environment mentors are conducting coastal research in Louisiana's Wax Lake Delta. Poveda hopes to bring that knowledge back to her native Panama.
LSU CC&E offers online students the same first-rate curriculum as on-campus students through versatile courses such as Oceanography 1005: Introduction to Oceanography. This fall, Dr. Malinda Sutor is teaching the digital version of this exciting class—where students learn about the world’s oceans, their origin, and their evolution.

Kendall Valentine, PhD student in oceanography and coastal sciences, is studying how waves erode the coastline in Barataria Bay. She has developed a numerical model to better understand how the coastline has been changing and what could be causing similar adjacent marshes to erode at such different rates.

Non-CMS Remediation Assistance
Websites outside of the university-supported content management system (CMS), OU Campus, must be remediated as soon as possible by the managing unit to meet accessibility requirements. Once the site is remediated, please submit appropriate remediation documentation via this  form

For guidelines, free tools and training opportunities, visit  LSU Accessibility
The Division of Strategic Communications is managing remediation for all OU Campus sites. If you are interested in migrating an external site into OU Campus, please contact Strategic Communications at  stratcomm@lsu.edu

Questions regarding non-OU Campus remediation may be directed to the Online Accessibility Working Group at  oawg@lsu.edu .

LSU’s goal is to bring its entire online presence into compliance with established accessibility standards – WCAG 2.0 Level AA and WAI-ARIA 1.0. This was determined by the university’s resolution agreement with the U.S. Department of Education’s Office for Civil Rights.
