Bill to Increase Medical Providers For Senior Citizens is Signed

A new law is aimed at incentivizing physicians assistants and nurse practitioners who specialize in geriatrics to come to Colorado. Right now, there are just 89 geriatricians in the entire state for 1.3 million Coloradans aged 60 and older. The bill provides $400,000 in loan forgiveness next year for those medical providers who are willing to practice geriatrics in underserved communities.

So What is STIR/SHAKEN caller ID and Why Should You Care?

WASHINGTON, June 30, 2021 - "FCC Acting Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel announced that the largest voice service providers are now using STIR/SHAKEN caller ID authentication standards in their IP networks, in accordance with the deadline set by the FCC. This widespread implementation helps protect consumers against malicious spoofed robocalls and helps law enforcement track bad actors ..." - READ MORE

Launch of the Emergency Broadband Benefit

The Federal Communications Commission (FCC)’s Emergency Broadband Benefit launched on May 12th. This benefit provides a discount of $50 per month for eligible low-income households or $75 per month for households on Tribal lands to cover internet bills, as well as discounts on some devices. Stakeholder Interest Survey for Behavioral Health and Housing Subpanels

On Monday, June 28th the Executive Committee of the Colorado General Assembly Legislative Council, approved the structure of the behavioral health and housing interim task forces and sub-advisory panels via resolutions. The structure included in each resolution outlines the types of membership to be represented as part of the subpanels. If you or a member of your organization is interested in participating in either one of the subpanels, please fill out the form using the link below. Membership of each subpanel is to be appointed by legislative leadership by July 23, 2021
