Dear Cherry Creek Academy Families,

Yesterday, Cherry Creek Academy conducted a full scale evacuation drill. At approximately 9:15 a.m. an announcement was made for students to exit the building for a normal fire drill. Once outside, we took attendance. Following our attendance, we practiced a full scale evacuation. This is part of our emergency planning and includes our entire school moving to a safe site in the event we needed to evacuate our building in case of an emergency. Our evacuation site is High Plains Elementary located at 6100 S Fulton St, Englewood, CO 80111.

I am so proud of our students and staff for the incredible job they did with our drill. Within minutes our students and staff were all outside safely and our building was evacuated. Within 5 minutes and 30 seconds we took attendance and began moving to the our evacuation site. We arrived within 19 minutes. At that point we took attendance again and returned to Cherry Creek Academy. Knowing that we able to evacuate our entire building, account for every student and staff member at our evacuation point and return to Cherry Creek Academy within 38 minutes helps confirm our confidence in responding to an emergency. This could not have been accomplished without the cooperation of everyone involved.

While I hope that we will never have to utilize this training, it is important to prepare for crisis situations. If you have any questions about our crisis training that our students and staff have gone through, please do not hesitate to contact me at

Original Works: Fundraiser
Dear Parents,

Original Works is a fun program that provides you a great way to create keepsakes of your children's artwork, and also help CCA's PTO raise money. A portion of the sales from Original works goes to the CCA PTO, and provides funds to sponsor many of your favorite events such as the CCA Carnival, Pastries with Parents, the Multicultural Festival, and Thanksgiving Baskets for teachers to name a few. In addition, they are invested back in school through a grant program for teachers.

For the first time, CCA is doing the online program.

The packet your student brought home, includes all the details to order online. Please follow these instructions. You may also click on the PDFs below for instructions.

The products will be delivered to the school on December 6 th . If you have any questions, please contact Subha Thoppay , CCA parent and Original Works coordinator, at .

CCA Leadership will give a free dress day to the class with the highest participation/sale!
