Safety Update

Dear CCA Community,

Many of you received Superintendent Harry Bull's correspondence regarding the tragic school shooting in Santa Fe Texas last week. We want to assure you that the safety team at CCA will continue to work tirelessly to ensure the safety of our students. We echo Dr. Bull's message:

Our school counselors and mental health professionals are available to all of our students if they need support in the aftermath of another school shooting. Our mental health team recommends limiting exposure to television and social media coverage of these tragic incidents. Resources about how to talk to children about school violence are available on our website and at this link in multiple languages: .

Nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of our students. We will continue to do everything in our power to provide schools where the children of Cherry Creek can learn, grow and thrive in a safe, secure and caring environment. We appreciate your partnership in this all-important effort.
CCA's digital bulletin board offers another communication platform for our wonderful community. There you will find carpool requests, exciting local events (outside of CCA or CCSD) and more. If you would like an item to appear on CCA’s digital bulletin board , please click HERE to send an email.

Thank You Caryl Schneider: CCA Will Miss You!
As we all know life is a journey with adventures along the way. My time at CCA has been one of my enjoyable adventures. (Well, maybe, I could say morning duty has been it's own adventure.) I've often said I am able to do one of my favorite things, teaching, without the stressors and challenges of a classroom. It has been a privilege to work with fabulous classroom teachers and staff during my time here. An added bonus is the friendships formed. Thank you so much for allowing me this special time
Teacher Feature
Ms. Koenig grew up in Nebraska and graduated with her teaching degree from the University of Nebraska, but calls Colorado her home.  This is Ms. Koenig’s 14 th  year teaching at CCA.  Prior to that she was a substitute for other schools including CCA.  She holds her Colorado teaching license endorsed in elementary education and secondary social studies.
She has been involved in the school since almost the beginning.  Her three children all graduated from CCA, the youngest going all the way through K-8.
Ms. Koenig is an animal lover and if she didn’t work with children, she would definitely work with animals in some capacity.  She enjoys her grand-dog, Roxie, a 5 pound Yorkie and walks with her at every opportunity.  She and her family also love the mountains.
The picture of her and her family is from an AV’s game.  She is a super AV’s fan!!
Jamie McIntyre-Wedde is a Special Education Learning Specialist & Department Team Lead at CCA. Jamie is very passionate about teaching, and assisting students in reaching their personal “Excellence” in Education.

Jamie has been a Special Education Teacher at the middle school level for 21 years. Jamie was also a Special Education Coordinator/Team Lead for 10 years; assisting in the development of quality educational programming for all students with IEP’s. Jamie has high academic expectations for her students and a history of consistently exceeding state and district growth standards.

Jamie also has a BA in Psychology and a Masters in Special Education and Education Administration. She brings a plethora of knowledge and expertise to the CCA Special Education Team.

Jamie has six children and 2 grandchildren. Jamie enjoys the outdoors, especially camping, 4-wheeling, and hiking in the forest. Jamie has a home in the country; and enjoys feeding the deer and wild turkeys that visit her daily.

Important Announcement from the Health Clinic

This is a required vaccine.
Please contact your health provider early to schedule an appointment.

The BookScanner App makes it easy to find Accelerated Reader books on Apple  iPads and iPhones. Now your trip to the public library for your AR reading materials can be much more efficient.

The app lets you know if a book has an AR quiz. Just scan the ISBN number on the back. You will also get the
  • Reading level (ATOS BL)
  • Number of AR points available for taking a quiz
  • Quiz number

It will also keep a history on each scanned book for easy reference, which you can delete at any time.

Happy reading!

Greetings CCA Families,

We are wrapping up our first year of Cub Scouts with Pack 222- CCA’s own Cub Scout Pack, and we’ve had a wonderful time. Next year, our program will be expanding in some exciting ways. Family Scouting is a new model being introduced that allows both boys and girls to experience the fun and engaging scouting experience. We often have siblings attending our meetings and participating in our events. Now- these siblings can fully participate! If you have a son or daughter who might want to participate in Cub Scouts this summer or next fall, fill out  this form  and we’ll be in touch!

If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to email Jasper Peters . You can find answers to some frequently asked questions  here .
