Dear CCAH Member & Friends,
Thank you for sticking with CCAH during this Covid-19 pandemic and all the delays and uncertainties that resulted. We survived and are alive and well in our 41st year of advocacy for expanding affordable housing throughout California. So, just a reminder that we need your help and assistance by way of renewing your membership with the California Council for Affordable Housing (CCAH) for 2022.
During the coming weeks/months, CCAH will be aggressively tracking and focused on the Build Back Better Bill passed by the House and now pending in the Senate. In addition, we will track and weigh in on state legislative efforts relative to possibly expanding the property tax exemption for mixed income projects serving folks up to 81% to 120% of AMI, (ii) CEQA reform, (iii) deferring certain impact fees on affordable projects and (iv) increased funding for state tax credits and affordable housing generally. CCAH believes these are worthy objectives and respectfully requests your assistance in helping us get this done.
With regard to state agencies, CCAH will continue working with Treasurer Fiona Ma and Committee members to simplify and improve the CTCAC and CDLAC regulations and application forms/process. More specifically, CCAH along with Century Housing and Kingdom Development, Inc. will co-sponsor the first training session on proposed revisions to the application forms on January 6, 2022 at the Holiday Inn Downtown Sacramento-Arena. Similarly, we will continue working with CalHFA’s Executive Director Tiena Johnson Hall and Governor Newsom’s office in an effort to continue, expand and improve the Mixed Income Program.
2022 Membership dues for CCAH remain the same as 2021 as follows:
- Regular Membership Dues - $750
- Membership Dues (For-Profit Developers with 250 Units or More) - $2,500
- Board Membership Dues - $5,000
The fee structure for CCAH's semi-annual conferences and other events will remain unchanged. As a CCAH member, you can be assured that your CCAH Board and leadership team will use its entire revenue base to aggressively advocate for policies that will help increase the production and preservation of affordable housing in all areas of California. Although there were many successes realized this past year, there remains much work to be done. We encourage you to continue standing with us as we engage in this effort through the coming months and years.
Additionally, the Council will continue to keep the affordable housing community informed of important developments and activities through its semi-annual conferences and periodic updates to the content of our website at www.californiacouncil.org.
