Braver Angels workshop on election integrity

Braver Angels, a national nonpartisan advocacy organization with a very active, volunteer-led Pennsylvania network, is hosting a workshop on December 14, from 9 a.m. – 12:30 p.m. on election integrity and safeguarding the elections process.

The workshop is seeking two evenly balanced Red-leaning and Blue-leaning teams (4-8 people on each team plus a matching number of silent “observers”) who will meet via Zoom for the duration of the session. The workshop is a professionally moderated discussion with exercises designed to help participants clarify disagreements, reduce stereotyped thinking, and identify common values, as well as to surface concerns and solutions that all participants from the workshop adopt unanimously.

Those interested can register online for the free Braver Angels workshop

Climate Pollution Reduction Grants

The Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) has received $3 million in grant funding to undertake climate action planning through EPA’s Climate Pollution Reduction Grants (CPRG). This grant will be managed jointly by DEP’s Energy Programs Office and Bureau of Air Quality.

Over the next two years we will be working diligently to develop a Priority Climate Action Plan (PCAP) and Comprehensive Climate Action Plan (CCAP) for Pennsylvania as deliverables for this grant.

As part the planning efforts, DEP is engaging local government stakeholders within the Commonwealth, as local government agencies are eligible applicants for the $4.6 billion in Implementation GrantsIt is imperative that entities who may wish to apply for implementation grants engage with DEP during this planning phase, as being included in a Priority Climate Action Plan is required to apply for implementation funding.

For more information on the CPRG Implementation Grants, please see EPA’s webinar.
