2021 CCAP FALL CONFERENCE REGISTRATION IS NOW OPEN!

The 2021 CCAP Fall Conference is scheduled for November 21 – 23 at The Hotel Hershey. The conference agenda (PDF) outlines the tentative schedule, session topics and speakers. Please register online by 4 p.m. November 12, 2021. Once you’ve completed your Conference registration, we recommend making your hotel reservations immediately to ensure you are in the CCAP room block with our special discounted Conference rate of $199 per room/per night plus 11 percent tax. Currently, the hotel is managing a wait list, so if you cannot complete an online reservation due to the hotel's sell-out, please call the hotel directly at (855) 729-3108 and request to be added to our Conference's wait list. PCCD OPENS RSAT GRANT APPLICATION

PCCD has announced the availability of 2021 Residential Substance Abuse Treatment Grants. Under this solicitation, federal funds are being made available to support counties seeking to increase opportunities to provide Medication Assisted Treatment (MAT) in combination with Cognitive Behavior Treatment (CBT) to individuals in county jails and upon release to the community. Funding is available to Pennsylvania counties, county jails/county work release centers, Single County Authorities, and/or County Behavioral Health Administrators seeking to establish or expand a jail-based substance abuse treatment program that supports individuals transitioning from a county jail and/or work release center to the community. Applications must be submitted in PCCD’s Egrants system no later than 11:59 P.M. on Monday, October 18, 2021.
VIRTUAL ISSUES FORUM ON POST-COVID WORKFORCE CHANGES

The Pennsylvania Economy League and MANTEC will hold a virtual issues forum on October 28 from 8 to 9:30 a.m., to explore workforce development post-COVID from a national, state and regional perspective. Panelists include Carrie Amann, executive director of the Pennsylvania Workforce Development Association, and Lucyann Vierling, executive director of the Wayne/Pike Workforce Alliance. CISA ANNOUNCES PUBLIC SAFETY COMMUNICATIONS TOOLKIT UPDATES

The Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) has updated its Public Safety Communications and Cyber Resiliency Toolkit to include topics such alerts, warnings and notifications, cybersecurity, NextGen 911, ransomware and unmanned aircraft systems. Originally published in July 2020, the Toolkit is expandable and maintained as a living site to allow for future topic areas, and includes guidance from other trusted resources. PennDOT TRANSPORTATION PLANS OPEN FOR PUBLIC COMMENT

On September 20, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation (PennDOT) announced the launch of the public comment period for the draft 2045 Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) and Freight Movement Plan (FMP). The plans are available for review and comment through October 19, 2021. The LRTP sets an overall strategic direction for Pennsylvania's transportation system for 20 years and the FMP reviews current and future trends in freight transportation to improve multimodal freight movement for five years. The LRTP and FMP represent a multimodal approach to improve mobility, safety, fairness, resilience, and sustainability for moving people and goods throughout the commonwealth. CALL FOR PRESENTERS - 2022 CRIMINAL JUSTICE ADVISORY BOARD (CJAB) CONFERENCE

PDDC and CCAP have announced that planning is underway for the 2022 Criminal Justice Advisory Board (CJAB) Conference that will be held April 12-13, 2022 at the Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center in State College. In an effort to provide conference attendees with valuable training opportunities and a positive conference experience, workshop proposals for the 2022 event are now being sought. Please submit your proposal by October 29, 2021. If your presentation is selected for inclusion in the CJAB Conference, you will be notified on or before November 23, 2021.
PENNDOT VIRTUAL INNOVATION DAYS
 
PennDOT will hold its Virtual Innovation Days November 2-4, 2021. The event will provide federal, state and local government transportation representatives with the opportunity to learn about and discuss transportation innovations being used across Pennsylvania. The virtual event will consist of 12 different free virtual presentation sessions over three days with a facilitated question/answer period following each presentation. Also, a Virtual Exhibit Hall will feature a variety of innovative equipment, materials, applications and technologies used by federal, state, and local agencies to help them do their jobs safer, better, faster, and save money. PENNSYLVANIA AUTOMATED VEHICLE SUMMIT REGISTRATION OPEN

The 2021 Pennsylvania Automated Vehicle (AV) Summit, which aims to foster a wider public understanding and dialogue around the benefits and issues related to AV technologies, will be held virtually October 26-28, 2021. The three-day online summit will cover a host of issues from automation and technology to environmental impacts, development, cybersecurity and impacts of AVs in the public sector.
