Focus Collaborative Meetings
This year, CCAoNH powered by Southern New Hampshire Services is offering Virtual Early Childhood Focus Collaborative Meetings for Directors, Administrators, Teachers and other Early Childhood Professionals. These Meetings are group-driven to reflect the participant’s needs and interests and to provide participants with information around the focused topics. In addition, participants will learn about Child Care Aware of NH program updates, essential local and State information along with other professional development opportunities.

Early Childhood Collaborative:
Infant & Toddler Programming and Curriculum
Date: Tuesday, December 1, 2020
Time: 6:30-8:00 PM

Facilitators: Meg Atwood, ECMPWT and Bekah Kistler, ECMPWT 
Topic: This month, participants will partake in an Infant and Toddler Environments Learn & Share session. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the Environment Rating Scales and how to set up spaces for infants and toddlers. During this meeting, participants are asked to bring a resource to share with other participants to take back to their programs. Examples may include: creative photos, successful room design ideas or resources related to environments.

Topic: This month, Erin Boylan, CASA/GAL Program Manager, from Court Appointed Special Advocates (CASA) of New Hampshire, will be joining us. Erin will be sharing with us what CASA is, how they work and what you can do to support children and families who have suffered from abuse and neglect.

Topic: This month, we will explore Personal Care Routines through the ERS lens. We will learn different health and safety practices using the ERS tools. Participants are asked to bring any questions they have around this topic and any fun ways they incorporate health and safety into their program.

Topic: This month, Heather Webster, Training and Technical Assistant Specialist with a focus on NHAEYC, from Southern New Hampshire Services, Child Care Aware of New Hampshire will be joining us. Heather will be presenting on the topic of "Reducing Stress Through Nutrition and Self-care". We will also, provide a "Learn & Share" time to go along with the Nutrition and Self-care theme. Please bring a recipe for your favorite healthy holiday treat or a fun active game to encourage gross motor movement.

Topic: This month, we will highlight building and strengthening family connections within your program. We will ponder the changing role of fathers and how to acknowledge them as capable caregivers. We will look at program barriers that discourage communication between providers and families and strategies we can use to boost our interactions with other family members. This collaborative offers extended learning opportunities in between sessions.

Topic: This Month, Christine Brown, ECMPWT, Training and Technical Assistance Specialist from Southern New Hampshire Services, Child Care Aware of New Hampshire will be joining us. Chris will give an Introduction to the Pyramid Model for Supporting Social Emotional Competence in Infants and Young Children, and how this framework applies to Montessori classrooms.

North Country
Date: Thursday, December 17, 2020

Topic: This month, Theresa Peck, Licensing Coordinator, from the Child Care Licensing Unit, will be visiting to answer any questions pertaining to the Child Care Licensing Rules. Theresa will be able to provide feedback on changes and context to rules.
