Monthly Minutes
March 2017
A Message from Child Care Aware of NH
As March begins, we are busy bees at Child Care Aware of NH.  In addition to the trainings that are found in the Annual Training Calendar, we are hosting several special events this month.  On Thursday, March 9th, we kick off with th e NH Early Childhood Leadership Summit: Part II, with Julie Barkus.  On Saturday, March 11th, there will be a Special Training Day with Prudence Pease speaking about  Bridges out of Poverty:  Strategies for Professionals and Communities. On Saturday, March 25th, CCAoNH will be hosting a Caring for Our Children Conference in Portsmouth and on Monday, March 27th, there will be a  Train the Trainer: Standards of Practice  Flex Training Series .  See below for more details on all future special events.

Our Training and TA Specialists are starting to visit the programs that were selected for the Progressive Training and TA Program.  We are excited about our work with the selected programs and the relationships we will build over the next year.  Please see below for additional programs that will be working with us on one of five state initiatives to improve program quality.

This month, Tracy Pond, Program Manager, and Karen Abbott, Lead CCR&R Outreach Coordinator, will be flying to Seattle for a Vroom Ambassador meeting.  This is an opportunity for them to share the work that we have been doing in NH with Vroom.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for everything you do for families and children.  We hope that you enjoy this month's edition of Monthly Minutes.

Trauma Informed Early Childhood Services (TIECS)
Understanding the impact of trauma on young children and families across developmental domains is critical to understanding how best to support them. This training will be based on the work of Doctors Yackley and Barnett from Dartmouth Trauma Interventions Research Center. It will take the mystery out of the words such as “trauma”, “trauma exposed” and “toxic stress” and help participants understand their role in working with young children who have experienced trauma. This training will highlight the importance of collaborating, accessing resources and developing strategies.
