August 2018 Monthly Minutes
A Message from Child Care Aware of NH
Hello Providers and Hello August,

The summer is flying by and CCAoNH is wasting no time as we work to help children, families and providers across the state.

Child Care Resource and Referral Outreach Specialists are asking for your help! Daily, we are getting phone calls asking for referrals in areas where many programs don't have vacancies. If you have available space to enroll children, please let us know. Email Thank you for your help and support.

Our Training and TA Specialists continue to support providers through technical assistance. The 2018 Progressive Training and TA Program is underway. Training and TA Specialist are working with programs to improve quality in one of five important initiatives: Emergency Preparedness, Early Learning Standards, Strengthening Families, Progressive Professional Development of Staff and the Infant and Toddler Initiative. The next round of Progressives will begin in the fall. Keep an out for the application email coming in September. The Emergency Operation Planning Cohort is getting ready to finish up. This group helped to create the Step-By-Step How to Guide: Planning for Emergencies and Disasters in NH Childcare Programs . Thank you to all the cohort members for the input into this document. Applications are currently being accepted for the next EOP Cohort that will be held in the Seacoast area.

The Annual Training Calendar is being worked on and will be out in mid-to-late August. Keep an eye out for its release! In the meantime, CCAoNH is facilitating the Quality Rating & Improvement System (QRIS) Listening Sessions. There are multiple sessions being offered across the state. Join us for one of our 2018 CCAoNH Feedback Forums . The Forums are being held throughout the state and are a great way to voice your opinions and hear about what we have in store for you next year! Have you completed the 2018 CCAoNH Provider Survey? If you haven't, there is still time. The survey is for all child care providers in the state, not just those in a leadership role. A Message from the Child Care Licensing Unit
We are excited to collaborate with Child Care Aware of NH to bring news from the Child Care Licensing Unit to the child care community on a regular basis through their e-newsletter, Monthly Minutes. Every month, we will strive to bring you information to increase your understanding of the NH Child Care Licensing Rules, and to share other resources to assist you in your work with and on behalf of children and their families. We will also use this space to share any important announcements as they relate to Child Care Licensing Unit (CCLU).
Reminders and Deadline Extensions
CCLU has been listening to concerns from programs about their ability to create comprehensive Continuity of Operations Plans and the Expulsion Policy as required in the rules adopted in November 2017. As communicated when the rules were adopted, programs were given until September 30, 2018 to meet these requirements. We will be extending these deadlines further to allow programs more opportunity to create plans and policies that are comprehensive and work for each program. Click below for more detailed information, and for additional reminders on other items Licensing Coordinators will begin asking to review at visits this fall.

The NH 2018 Child Care Market Rate Survey (MRS) Report
Is Now Available
You can access the report on the DHHS web site:
NH is federally required by the USDHHS/Administration for Children and Families/Office of Child Care to conduct a Market Rate Survey and this regulation is part of the Child Care and Development Fund (CCDF) Program. The purpose of the Market Rate Survey is to inform the Bureau of Child Development and Head Start Collaboration in the reimbursement rate setting process for child care providers enrolled in the NH Child Care Scholarship Program.
The 2018 MRS reflects variations in the price of child care services by geographic area, type of provider, and age of child. The Bureau will re-evaluate existing payment rates to determine whether rates continue to provide equal access based on present market conditions, examine shifts in local markets, and consider inflation when setting new reimbursement rates.
Race 2K Process Coach
