Focused Collaborative Meetings
This year, CCAoNH a program of Southern New Hampshire Services is offering Virtual Early Childhood Focused Collaborative Meetings for Directors, Administrators, Teachers and other Early Childhood Professionals. These Meetings are group-driven to reflect the participant’s needs and interests and to provide participants with information around the focused topics. In addition, participants will learn about Child Care Aware of NH program updates, essential local and State information along with other professional development opportunities.

Topic:  This month, Clinical Supervisor, Melony Williams, LCMHC, from the TLC Family Resource Center in Claremont will be joining us. Melony will be presenting on the topic: "Summertime Reflections and Techniques for Restoring Well-Being".  As we all know we cannot pour from an empty cup, so this month we will spend some time reflecting on the importance of self-care and trying out a couple of techniques for accomplishing this. Please bring some paper, a pen and colored pencils or crayons to the meeting!

Topic: This month, we will be presenting technology in the early childhood classroom. We will be discussing the benefits and drawbacks of using technology with young children, as well as some suggestions for responsible usage, and share ideas for how educators can incorporate technology into the classroom. We will follow this discussion with a brief overview of how to update your program profile in the New Hampshire Connections Information System (NHCIS); including the opportunity to go over frequently asked questions.

Topic: This month, we will be facilitating a Q&A problem-solving discussion!
Bring your toughest questions from environmental obstacles to behavior dilemmas, and we will work together to identify some solutions using our Pyramid Model knowledge. We will also be celebrating our first year as a Pyramid Model collaborative and develop topic ideas for next year.

North Country
Date: Thursday, June 24, 2021

Topic: This month, the North Country Health Consortium is happy to bring trainer Gail Gettens, from the Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program at NH Division of Public Health Services to talk about new legislation taking effect in July 2021 that lowers the actionable limit for lead blood levels. This change will likely identify more children who are suffering from toxic lead levels, and who will receive nurse case management services. Additionally, the trainer will talk about how COVID-19 has increased rates of lead poisoning in children.
