Focused Collaborative Meetings
This year, CCAoNH powered by Southern New Hampshire Services is offering Virtual Early Childhood Focused Collaborative Meetings for Directors, Administrators, Teachers and other Early Childhood Professionals. These Meetings are group-driven to reflect the participant’s needs and interests and to provide participants with information around the focused topics. In addition, participants will learn about Child Care Aware of NH program updates, essential local and State information along with other professional development opportunities.

Infant & Toddler Programming and Curriculum

This month, participants will partake in an Art and Sensory Curriculum Learn & Share session. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about art and sensory exploration with infants and toddlers. During this meeting, participants are asked to bring a resource to share with other participants to take back to their programs. Examples may include: art activities and sensory recipes.

Topic: This month, Heather Webster, ECMPWT, from Southern New Hampshire Services: Child Care Aware of New Hampshire, will present on supporting self-care for yourself, staff and families.  She will touch upon stress reduction and nutrition strategies that will promote healthy bodies and minds.  Please come ready to share your own ideas on how you promoted well-being during this more stressful time.

Topic: This month, Diane Levin, PH.D, Professor of Human Development at Boston University and Author of Remote Controlled-Childhood & Teaching Young Children in Violent Times, will be joining us to discuss the increased use of screen time and its impact on children during this pandemic. Whether the child is using screen time for academics, enjoyment, as a babysitter for parents, or because "just play" has become boring, it can take a toll on their childhood. We will have time to discuss this new dilemma, discuss strategies for responding, and answer our questions.

Topic: This month, Allison Cloutier, MS CCC-SLP will be presenting the ‘Power of Play’ to highlight the importance of play in regard to speech and language skills. Participants will hear about research that supports play and learning in early childhood, what speech and language skills to target for specific age groups birth to kindergarten and get an inside look at her favorite games and activities for these age groups.

Topic: This month, Connie Davis, Family Child Care Support Specialist from Southern NH Services: Child Care Aware of New Hampshire, will be sharing information about the Pyramid Model framework. Studies of Pyramid Model implementation in programs show an increase in children's social skills and a decrease in challenging behaviors.

Topic: This month, we will explore Zoom in a hands-on approach, from setting up a Zoom meeting to how to use the interactive features on Zoom. Features that will be discussed will include: sharing screen, break out rooms, polls, and how to update Zoom so that you have the most up-to-date features.

During this meeting, participants are asked to bring a resource to share with other participants to take back to their programs. Examples may include: gift ideas, personalized notes, anything you have used to show teachers they are appreciated
