Hello Providers!
This month is all about YOU! On May 12th we will be celebrating Provider Appreciation Day®. Provider Appreciation Day was started in 1996 by a group of volunteers in New Jersey, who saw the need to recognize the tireless efforts of providers who care for children of working parents. It is celebrated the Friday before Mother’s Day every year to recognize child care providers, teachers and other educators of young children everywhere.
Child Care Aware of NH is excited to be able to say thank you to each and every one of you, so be sure to keep an eye on your mailboxes in the coming weeks!
|
|
We would like to take this opportunity to thank you for everything you do for families and children. We hope that you enjoy this month's edition of Monthly Minutes!

Breastfeeding has benefits for infants and mothers. This is why it is crucial for child care programs to support families in their breastfeeding journey. Welcoming mothers to breastfeed onsite at anytime and creating a comfortable, private space is one thing you can do to support them.

Monthly Health And Safety Resources

Everyone in NH is at risk of being bitten by a tick. With the weather getting warmer and ticks coming out of hiding, it is important to know how to keep children and staff safe from ticks. You can do things such as:
- Clearing tall grass and brush
- Putting wood chip or gravel barriers between wooded areas and play equipment
- Mowing the lawn frequently and keeping leaves raked
- Keeping play equipment away from yard edges and trees, and/or placing them in direct sunlight
These are just some of the steps you can take to help keep your play spaces tick free. To learn more about how to prevent, protect, and check, visit Tick Free New Hampshire!

Some of you may know that Granite State College has merged with The University of New Hampshire, and we will be changing our name to the College of Professional Studies. With that, some things may look different, but still offer same great courses and the sign-up process will stay the same.
