Meet Our 2023-24 Student Ambassadors!
|
|
|
The Student Ambassador Program is a new for 2023-24. Students who received a Foundation scholarship were eligible to apply for the student ambassador program. The next step was to interview with a panel of CCC Foundation Board Directors. The educational journey of each of the candidates is amazing and inspirational.
We congratulate the students who were interested in partnering with the CCC Foundation and appreciate the willingness of our 2023-24 student ambassadors to share their student story with us as the Foundation strives to inspire and engage our community in support of CCC students so they can achieve their goals!

"My goal is to use the skills I have gained through my college experience to encourage others who are in a dark place and do not believe they can have more in their lives. I want to write my story down so others will see that you can reach out and find a better path if you try, and there are people who will do everything they can to help you accomplish your goals. Don't give up. I also want to become an English Literature instructor to help others learn and comprehend what is needed to be successful in college and life. Being able to articulate your thoughts and intentions will help others understand what you're seeking, so they may find more accurately what will help you reach these goals."

"I’m enrolled in the Welding and Fabrication program with my sights set on earning my AAS degree. Once I earn my certifications I plan on using the knowledge and skills I gained while studying at CCC and entering the field of welding/fabrication. Ultimately I envision opening my own business and would like to incorporate helping kids that are in foster care learn skills that will help them in their future."

"My area of study is currently focused towards my general education classes, with the intention to transfer to a university and pursue a degree in the realm of biology, ecology or environmental science.
My career goals are not yet set in stone, but I know for sure that it involves working in nature and/or doing something to help protect the environment. Conservation is possibly on the table but I have yet to determine this."

"My current degree path is the AAOT, with the goal of transferring to Oregon State University in the Fall of 2024, to complete a bachelor's in creative writing, or education. After completing that degree, I will continue up the academic ladder, and towards a goal of a PhD in Literature. I hope to use this degree to come back to Astoria and teach Literature and Writing at Clatsop Community College. In the years that I have lived here, I have grown to know it as my home and couldn't dream of anywhere else to land someday."
