Expanding access to capital for Arkansas businesses, homebuyers, and communities.

It's Official: CCCA is a 501(c)3

In our summer newsletter, we shared that CCCA had submitted its paperwork to become a nonprofit. We’re excited to share that the IRS has approved our application, and CCCA is now an official 501(c)3 organization. This gives the coalition a lasting foundation for the work ahead, and it means gifts to CCCA are now tax-deductible.

Thank you to our members, our executive committee, and the partners who helped us get here. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Introducing Capital Connections

Too many Arkansas business owners hear “no” from a lender and never come back. Capital Connections is designed to change that. The program will connect business owners to the right lender, the right technical assistance, and the right credit counseling, so that a “no” becomes a “not yet” with a clear path forward. It will build on the lenders, counselors, and support organizations already working across the state rather than creating something new from scratch.

We’re looking for partners to help us bring Capital Connections to life. Reach out to us at info@communitycapitalarkansas.org.

Carter's Crew

When Carter’s Crew won its first federal grant, there was a catch. The money came as a reimbursement, which meant the organization had to pay for the work up front and wait to be paid back. CCCA member Forge Community Loan Fund stepped in with bridge financing that turned an award on paper into real services for young people and families in Central Arkansas.

What Our Partners Have Been Up To

Our partners have had a busy fall, and the conversations happening across the region are shaping how capital moves in the South.

DELTA FEST 2026

Our partners at HOPE hosted DELTA FEST in Jackson, Mississippi, September 2 to 4. The three-day gathering brought together entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers, and community leaders from six states, including Arkansas, to work on economic opportunity across the Deep South.

Invested in the South

In mid-September, the Asset Funders Network brought lenders, funders, and banks from across the South to New Orleans for Invested in the South: CDFIs Building Assets, Strengthening Communities. The convening was organized by AFN South, a partnership of the Arkansas, Louisiana, and Memphis chapters, and focused on small business capital, homeownership, and regional collaboration.

The Natural State Housing Summit

On October 1, Groundwork hosted the Natural State Housing Summit at the Robinson Center in Little Rock. Leaders from across the state came together to take on Arkansas’s toughest housing challenges and talk about the policies that can move the needle.

See You in New Orleans!

CCCA will be at OFN42, the Opportunity Finance Network’s annual conference, in New Orleans October 20 to 23. This year’s theme is “Opportunity Next.” If you’ll be there too, we’d love to connect.

Thanks for reading, and for helping us open doors to capital in Arkansas.
