CCCA Fall Programming Doubles - See All the New Offerings!! + News & Updates!

Dear Friends:

The Fall session is off to a very strong start, and we're very happy to report that we've doubled our online/virtual programming mid-session (read on for full details)!!

Following this Summer's fruitful musical rehearsals and livestream broadcast with Eureka Ensemble, our non-profits have partnered up to support each other's community missions, and Eureka will be producing 3 charitable livestream concerts this Fall, hosted by the CCCA, tonight, and currently in progress (musical portion begins at 7:30 p.m. - see the top of section 1 for the link)!

We are also excited to partner up with The Flavor Continues, a non-profit dedicated to preserving the roots of and evolving the street and club dance culture, by providing a space for the public to experience and celebrate alongside our community, through innovative events and education! Beginning tomorrow, the CCCA will host daily dance rehearsals and private lessons by the diverse body of artists and dance crews that this wonderful organization has been helping to support!

This month as well, we welcome back the House Dance Collective Sole Rhtyhmics Meetup, for bi-weekly dance sessions, to help keep the House Dance culture alive.

In working to increase our reach to Cambridge residents, we are very thankful to Cambridge Cable Television for broadcasting the Intro to Boxing video we produced for Jessica Liggero, and the upcoming Intro to Belly Dance video with Johara! We also thank our Canal District Kendall facility sponsor BioMed Realty, for their continued Cambridge marketing support, and their sponsorship of digital Soofa signs for all of our public programming!

Read on for complete details and links to our cultural programming, and also to learn about and help support the Cambridge Mask Alliance coalition we are part of, along with 11 other local Cambridge non-profits (see Section 4).

The 5Rhythms'
Sweat Your Prayers®
By Margaux Skalecki
Mondays, 7:45 - 8:45 p.m.
5-Class Session Begins Nov. 16
Sweat Your Prayers® is a dance gathering where we bring our individual 5Rhythms® practice and move through the Rhythms of Flowing, Staccato, Chaos, Lyrical and Stillness with dedication and freedom. The intention of this class is to have spaciousness and relatively little formal instruction, relying on the individual to create and support one’s own journey into the Wave of music. From exploring the endless boundaries of these 5Rhythms we develop, as Gabrielle Roth often taught, the discipline needed to be a free spirit, and thus the freedom to wholly dance with the sacredness of oneself, another, and community.

Noon Time Ballet Barre
By Margaux Skalecki
Wednesdays, 12:00 - 1:00 p.m.
5-Class Session Begins Nov. 18
How would you like to explore yourself in the world of dance (online) at the ballet barre? This class would be more for the beginner, yet even as a professional dancer and performing artist, I know that starting at the beginning is the best place. The great news is, you do not even need a ballet barre; you could use a table, a chair, a counter, or even a window sill. A ballet barre routine is one of the best ways to strengthen, align, and lengthen the body, and stretch the mind.

Unravel the old defeats and behaviors into a bright availability of the embodied performing artist that you are. The creative life force is present in all of us! Movement, improvisation, spoken word, and more.
Section 4: The Cambridge Mask Alliance
Thousands of Cambridge households have been impacted by COVID-19. As a member of the Cambridge Mask Alliance, a coalition of 12 local non-profits led by the Cambridge Volunteer Clearinghouse (CVC), the CCCA has been working to make sure every Cambridge resident and household has the masks they need to stay safe. With the support of the City of Cambridge, the Cambridge Public Health Department, Google Cambridge, and individual and business donors, our dedicated Cambridge Mask Alliance volunteer team stepped up to supply over 12,000 quality reusable face masks this summer, and 15,000 more by the end of October.
Will you help us supply thousands more in preparation for flu season?
