President's Message
Greetings!
As a long-standing supporter of the Association, I'm honored to serve as your 2021-22 President. We
survived the most challenging times, and together we will tackle the road to recovery ahead. My
vision as President has been to propel the Association forward through leadership with a local
voice and engaging directly with existing members and prospective cities as the Contract Cities
Family continues to expand. We may visit your city in person or virtually at an upcoming
council meeting; stay tuned!
I’m pleased to announce the return of the Sacramento Legislative Orientation Tour (SLOT). Out of an abundance of caution, we decided to postpone until March 2-4, 2022. Our priority for the return
of in-person conferences is to ensure the health and safety of all in attendance. SLOT
programming will include in-depth legislative panels, Capitol Briefings and notable keynote
speakers. SLOT is the cornerstone of our advocacy as we have an opportunity to share anecdotes
with legislators as they craft bills that impact our communities. I encourage you, your city
leaders and associate members to join us for this important event.
The Legislative Committee has been hard at work by providing recommendations to ensure the
Association provides critical feedback to state legislation and local initiatives. This year’s
committee is led by two notable women leaders, Co-Chair Stacey Armato and Co-Chair Jennifer
Perez. The committee meets twice a month and is open to all members; if you are interested in
engaging further, please contact Jorge or our Co-Chairs.
I encourage you to stay engaged with Contract Cities through our monthly Board of Directors
meetings and even social media! Your participation is vital in our advocacy and programming.
Thank you for your membership and commitment to Contract Cities.
