On Thursday, August 11, CCCD celebrated its 20th Anniversary. Over 350 craft enthusiasts joined us from around the country to enjoy interactive Back to the Drawing Board projects, local food and drink, and more.
Thanks to our host committee led by Libba Evans and Robyn Horn, volunteers, dedicated sponsors and supporters, we raised nearly $100,000 to support CCCD programs, exhibitions, and operations.
Check out our Back to the Drawing Board videos from the event below by recent Warren Wilson College graduate Nadia Marti and take a look inside the creative process with featured artist Brice Garrett (Brooklyn, NY) and collaborative team
Jay Fox
and
Ellie Richards
(Penland, NC).

The Future of Fixing
On view:
September 2, 2016 - January 7, 2017
Opening Reception
Friday, September 2, 6 - 8 pm
The future needs a new relationship with making. A forward-thinking, backward-looking, sideways-stepping kind of making. A making born of the imaginative use of skills. Something like fixing.
The Future of Fixing is an open source exhibition and program that promotes engagement with making and repair. It is a call for integrating fixing in our day to day life and for reflecting on attitudes to fixing in the future.
The exhibition will feature sixteen international and national design studios and artists whose work addresses the concept of repair, either through fixing things, materials, process, systems, or attitudes. CCCD's gallery will also include a Maker Library and a hands-on Fixshop.
