Here’s a peek at what you will learn:
Construction Management – CCDC 5A, 5B, and 17
Construction Management (CM) is a form of project delivery characterized by the collaboration of the project owner, consultant, and construction manager. These parties work as a team to achieve efficiencies in time, cost, and constructability.
In your CCDC member-led seminar, you will learn:
- The philosophy of the CCDC CM contracts
- Guidance on best practice use of the CM contracts
- The different roles and responsibilities of the parties under the 5A and 5B models
- Common trends and challenges associated with CM contracts
Attendees will also learn about the updates made to the three CM contracts, including:
- Modern language of CCDC 2, including the Ready-for-Takeover project milestone and insurance provisions
- Updated and more user-friendly schedules of services
- New format for compensation of the construction manager’s services during the different phases and the added clarity in calculating the fee for construction manager’s services
- New provisions addressing construction cost estimates which exceed the construction budget
- Greater clarity on the interaction between the construction manager’s construction schedule vs. project owner’s project schedule
- Preparation of an execution plans identifying the construction manager’s methodology and plans for the project
- New format improving clarity on the conversion to a stipulated price, guaranteed maximum price and GMP, plus percentage cost savings options in the CCDC 5B
Integrated Project Delivery – CCDC 30 and Guide
Integrated Project Delivery (IPD) is a delivery method distinguished by the alignment of business interests of all parties through a multi-party contractual arrangement between the project owner, consultant, contractor, and often additional parties.
The new CCDC 30 looks radically different from the rest of the CCDC library, including its own predecessor.
The 2025 CCDC seminars will cover the new CCDC 30 and accompanying guide, including:
- The key underlying principles of the CCDC 30 contract
- Critical considerations when it comes to cash flow of the IPD team members
- Timing and mechanics of added value incentive items, including during the construction phase
- The unique format of the new CCDC 30 that distinguishes it from the rest of the CCDC library, including its own predecessor
