STATEMENT ON PRIMARY RESULTS
Yesterday every single candidate and issue endorsed by the Cuyahoga County Democratic Party (CCDP) won in our county. This is a testament to so many who worked tirelessly to support our candidates on Election Day and over the past several months. Congratulations to all the endorsed candidates who were victorious, as well as those who won in races where the CCDP did not endorse. And a sincere thank you to all those candidates who ran but didn’t make it.
The CCDP’s vote-getting strategy has been the work of several years, and comprises several layers, with many involved in its implementation. We are incredibly proud of the success of this operation but will continue to innovate moving forward. Our endorsement matters on many levels, and we’ll keep striving to gain the confidence of voters in this county.
Democrats in Cuyahoga County must now work together as one. The goal moving forward is not simply guiding our candidates to victory, but increasing the number of people involved in the civic process, most especially voting. Today’s Republican party does not care about the needs of the average American. They prefer candidates who believe their own wealth entitles them to tell us all how to live. So, it’s vital that we stay on task to elect Democrats in our county, improve the lives of our fellow Ohioans, and especially to re-elect Senator Sherrod Brown.
