HAPPY SPRING 2021

Spring is here and so much is happening here at CCE Nassau. As you review our monthly update you will see that many of our important CCE programs continue to be delivered (in-person or virtually) despite the on-going challenges of the pandemic.
Additionally, we have exciting plans for the upcoming spring and summer months. We thank you for your on-going support of our work here at CCE Nassau.

Please continue to visit our CCE Nassau website for up to date announcements and to view our latest in-person or virtual educational offerings.

Stay safe and healthy and enjoy the beautiful spring weather. Hopefully we will see you soon in the gardens at East Meadow Farm or at our DPF 4-H Camp in Riverhead, NY.

URBAN FORESTRY
Arbor Day: April 30, 2021

Arbor Day is an opportunity to celebrate the many benefits that trees present to us, including lower home energy costs, green infrastructure for storm water management, and even helping to mitigate the effects of climate change. Many celebrate this event by planting a young tree at home, in a park, or at a school, but this event is also a time to reflect on the things we do every day of the year to preserve our urban forest.

CCE Nassau, in collaboration with the Long Island ReLeaf committee, will be helping communities across Long Island celebrate Arbor Day in their own unique way. This year, we are excited to be providing resources to residents, community groups, and city leaders and ways to host socially-distant or virtual Arbor Day celebrations. Stay on the lookout for more details as we get closer! In the meantime, check out the Arbor Day page on our website to see what we did in 2020.
