It's the last day of Past, Present, & Future! We'll be following up in the future, and finding all 60 partners will certainly take some time, but this marks the end of the initial appeal. So, for the final time, I am asking you to become a monthly donor if you’re not one, and if you are one, I’m asking you to increase your contribution.
Why do this campaign? Because CCF has always believed that in truly effective ministry, people matter more than programming because the way that faithful discipleship takes root and flourishes is through relationships, which starts with our staff. And they do an incredible job at this.
Nat is the first to fill the empty seat next to the uncomfortable new student, and she is an incredible support for veteran students looking to lead.
Noah tirelessly welcomes students into his home at any hour, and his immense gift of encouragement makes everyone feel more seen and loved than when they first walked in.
Komar quietly, loyally serves both in and outside CCF, doing more for the people of both Kirksville and Truman than anyone knows without ever seeking recognition for any of it.
Keev and Stephanie are simply the best international student ministers in the world; they make a home for strangers and meet countless needs while never pushing an agenda on anyone.
Brooke is a lighthouse of welcome for new students, keeping at the effort all year long, helping them steadily and comfortably lay down roots here. And she’s also one heck of a worship leader.
And derrick… by exemplifying fearlessness, compassion, honest thinking, and reverence for the mystery, he calls us to wake up and be alive in Christ.
(And that’s just the people working here now. I could write volumes on CCF’s past staff.)
As director of CCF, my conviction and hope is simple: to be able to pay the staff in a manner that honors dignity and sustainability, allowing us to keep amazing staff around for years to come.
Dignity, because I see their work and believe it is worth more than the bare minimum.
Sustainability, because I don’t want the need to support a family or save for a future or have health care be a reason that someday forces them to leave.
And again, because CCF is not like a normal church with employed members, that becomes possible only when our alumni from across the decades remember us and partner with us financially.
So, what's a minister worth? A difficult question to answer, but I believe the videos we've shown do as well as anything could from afar. The only thing better is to remember for yourself.
If you recognize the value of the staff's ministry in this community, and if you're in a place now where you can increase your monthly gift to CCF, please give.
Thank you so much for partnering with us.
To the hilt,
Reed
