July 18 2021
Volume V Issue 184
At Holy Faith our mission is that everyone come to know, love and serve God in union with Christ Jesus and his Spirit-filled Catholic Church. In doing so we are committed to our vision to build together a community of compassion in Christ.
SIXTEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
18 July 2021

"When he disembarked and saw the vast crowd, his heart was moved with pity for them, for they were like sheep without a shepherd; and he began to teach them many things.
Mk6:34
As we prepare to gather for Mass physically or virtually, reading the Sunday Scripture readings in advance will help prepare us in mind and heart to fully participate in the Mass.

Matthew 25:

THIS WEEKEND: July 17-18

The 3rd Sunday Food Drive is an extra push to keep the Catholic Charities food pantry shelves fully stocked for the end of the month's outreach to the hungry. This has been a successful outreach program since we resumed the push back in September of 2020 and is so appreciated by Catholic Charities and those we serve together. Holy Faith has always supported the work of Catholic Charities doing what our church envisions: “to build together a Community of Compassion in Christ”. Thank you for your loving and giving hearts. We hit 955 pounds a few months ago. Let's go for it or more every month and make it our goal! May God bless you always.

NEXT FILIPINO-AMERICAN MASS
SUNDAY, JULY 25 2021
(also livestreamed)
4:00pm at HOLY FAITH CATHOLIC CHURCH
FROM THE DIOCESE
The parishes of the Diocese of St Augustine will acknowledge, in celebration, the World Day for Grandparents and the Elderly at our Masses next weekend.
“Grandparents are the ring linking generations, to transmit to young people the experience of life and faith.”
Pope Francis (2021)
In January 2021, after praying the Angelus, Pope Francis declared the fourth Sunday in July as World Day for Grandparents. The date has been chosen to be near the liturgical memorial (July 26) of Saints Anne and Joachim, grandparents of Jesus. Since the date of the memorial falls within the week devoted to raising awareness of Natural Family Planning and Church teaching which support its use in marriage due to the anniversary of Humanae vitae (July 25), it is appropriate for all NFP Week celebrations to include reflection upon the vital role that grandparents play in the lives of their grandchildren.
