Expansion Update | May 2026

THE EXCITEMENT IS BUILDING!

Groundbreaking News!

Charlotte Catholic High School is proud to announce a major milestone in the Grounded in Tradition, Focused on the Future capital campaign. Thanks to the incredible generosity and support of our donors, construction on the first two transformational projects will begin this summer.

While we are excited to begin construction on these first projects, there is still important work ahead. With a total project cost $10.5 million, this campaign represents a bold investment in the future of CCHS and the generations of students who will learn, grow, compete, and lead here.

This exciting first phase includes the conversion of the stadium to a premium turf field and the renovation of the Media Center into a dynamic new Student Life Center—two projects that will immediately enhance the daily experience of our students and strengthen campus life for years to come.

The new turf field will increase on-campus practice and event capacity, improve safety and reliability, and allow for year-round use by the many programs that rely on this shared space. The Student Life Center will create a vibrant hub for collaboration, learning, community, and student engagement at the heart of campus.

As we prepare to break ground, we celebrate the momentum that has brought us to this point while continuing to look ahead to the future phases of the campaign, including the Computer, Technology, and Engineering Innovation Center and a multipurpose athletic performance and training field house and we continue to seek support to fully realize the vision of the campaign.

Donor Spotlight

"When we arrived in Charlotte in 1996, we could not have imagined the incredible journey that awaited our family. Over the years, we have been truly blessed to watch all four of our daughters grow, learn, and flourish -- first at St. Gabriel's, then Holy Trinity, and finally at Charlotte Catholic High School. From our oldest daughter's graduation in 2007 to our youngest crossing that same stage in 2021, Charlotte Catholic has been woven into the very fabric of our family's life for nearly three decades.
What keeps us connected to CCHS goes far beyond academics, though the school's commitment to rigorous learning is extraordinary. It is the faith-filled community -- the teachers who genuinely care, the friendships that have lasted well beyond graduation, and the values instilled in our daughters that continue to guide them as young women today. We have watched each of our four girls discover who they are at Charlotte Catholic -- through the classroom, on the athletic fields, in the arts, and through their growing relationship with their faith. There is simply no other place quite like it.
While our children have been gone for more than five years, we believe deeply in what this school stands for and what it makes possible. We want future families to experience the same warm family community that shaped our daughters -- a place where faith, academics, athletics, and the arts come together in a truly special way. Repeatedly, the Charlotte Catholic community has risen to the occasion -- rallying behind the Teacher Impact Fund, the beautiful new Fine Arts Center, athletic facilities, and so much more. Years ago, families who had already sent their children through these halls stepped up with generosity and love during challenging times, asking for nothing in return. We are inspired by their example. It is now our turn to pay it forward, and we do so with full and grateful hearts."

"Growing up in the Charlotte Catholic school system shaped who I am today. The values of faith, integrity, service, and community were woven into every part of the experience, and those lessons continue to guide me personally, professionally, and as a parent. That foundation is one of the primary reasons I chose to become involved in this campaign. I believe deeply in the mission of Catholic education and the importance of ensuring future generations have access to the same faith-centered formation that had such a meaningful impact on my life.

Today, with young children in the Catholic school system, this mission has become even more personal. Faith will always be fundamental building block on which we grow,  but we also have a responsibility to continue investing in the future of our schools. To attract and develop exceptional teachers and leaders, strengthen academic rigor, enhance student opportunities, and improve facilities, we must continue moving forward with purpose and vision. This campaign is about preserving what makes Catholic education special while ensuring our schools continue to grow and thrive for generations to come.

Whether you are an alumni, have kids in the system now or did in the past, or perhaps will have kids come through at some point in the future, the time is now. Let’s come together, as this community always does, to ensure the kids in this family now and in the future can fully maximize their pursuit of the best version of themselves."
