St. Elizabeth|Coleman
St. Elizabeth|Coleman staff recently spoke at St. Ann Catholic Church in Indianapolis, informing the congregation of the many pregnancy and adoption services they offer. These services include prenatal support, education with parenting skills, donation programs, adoption counseling, along with birth mother and parent support groups.

St. Elizabeth|Coleman also connected with other pro-life agencies that spoke at St. Ann that weekend. They are so grateful for the new connections and local support from parishes, since moving to the northside of Indianapolis.

St. Elizabeth|Coleman strives to spread their goal of providing every child with a safe, happy, and healthy home. Furthermore, St. Elizabeth | Coleman aspires to keep increasing their community involvement throughout central Indiana. Click here to learn more about St. Elizabeth|Coleman
Refugee Resettlement Program
The Refugee Resettlement Program has welcomed over 350 new arrivals since October 2023. They expect to welcome around 500 by the end of September. The staff works with these families to help them get settled into their new life in the United States. Volunteers are always needed to assist arriving families with moving, to teach English and more. School Social Workers Help
Students Manage Emotions
During the 2023-2024 school year, the School Social Work program consisted of 25 staff members serving 27 Catholic schools within the Archdiocese.

Throughout the year, staff saw students struggling to regulate their thoughts and emotions. In response to this, staff attended a training presented by Carlabeth Mathias, LCSW with Mathias Counseling and Consulting on distress tolerance skills. Distress tolerance skills help students manage their emotions through the use of relaxation techniques, coping skills, communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness, and prayer.

Staff has seen success with implementing practices from the training in their school
setting. According to one school social worker, “The urgency of School Social Work programs is growing. The Social Work area that each of us creates lets children breathe, calm down and regulate their emotions when needed. In this space, children know that they are being heard and acknowledged as unique individuals. We protect distress-free zones inside the school building and help children be better equipped to learn.”

Eucharistic Congress Service Project
The upcoming National Eucharistic Congress being held in downtown Indianapolis from July 17-21, 2024, presents a unique opportunity for our Archdiocese to welcome and host numerous pilgrims on their spiritual journey. As we partake in the Blessed Sacrament, we experience a personal and profound encounter with God. He not only nourishes and heals us but also calls us to share His love with others. (Deus Caritas Est)

In response to this call, Catholic Charities—Social Concerns and the Society of St. Vincent de Paul of Central and Southern Indiana teamed up to sponsor the Hygiene Care Package Project, a pre-Service project to the National Eucharistic Congress.

Why this service project? For many individuals in our communities, purchasing hygiene items is a luxury. By offering a simple gift of a Hygiene Care Package, we can restore dignity and hope to those who may feel forgotten. We invite all members of our community, including parishes, schools, community groups, youth groups, prayer groups, families, and individuals, to join us in this endeavor.

The completed Hygiene Care Packages will be distributed at the National Eucharistic Congress and participants will be encouraged to distribute these care packages to those in need in the Indianapolis area or take them back to their diocese to be replicated and distributed to those in need in their areas. For more information and how to get involved, contact Theresa Chamblee at tchamblee@archindy.org or 317-236-1404

Indianapolis is home to many diverse refugee communities, and we are honored to stand with them and support them as they make their homes here.

Why choose the Catholic Community Foundation?
Selecting where to invest your charitable giving is an important decision. For many donors, it is important for them to align their giving with their Catholic values. Our mission is faith-driven and at the service of Christ and His church. Investing with the Catholic Community Foundation (CCF) strengthens all Catholic parishes, schools and ministries who benefit now, and for future generations. Pooling collective resources, CCF benefits the larger Catholic community and those we serve, financially strengthening the Body of Christ by working together and utilizing the power of investment for good.
  • CCF exclusively benefits Catholic ministries with an emphasis on local, Archdiocesan needs.
  • With a large investment pool of $242 million, CCF can provide greater interest returns and lower fees.
  • A large portion of the administrative fee goes back into the Catholic community through a matching gift program.
  • And most important, we follow the US Catholic Bishops’ ethical investment policy which promotes responsible investing aligned with Catholic teaching. You can rest assured that your investment is thoroughly reviewed to align with the values of the Catholic Church.
