Environmental, Disaster Relief and Human Service Projects for Volunteer Teams

CCI provides all food, lodging, tools, safety equipment, project materials, and project coordination allowing your volunteer team to focus on completing projects that address disaster recovery, homelessness, childhood education, and the environment.

CCI got lots done during this years winter break!

120 volunteers from 10 universities

We’re thrilled to share the incredible work accomplished this past Winter Break by our volunteers. Their dedication and passion have made a big difference in the communities we serve.


Seven teams served in Puerto Rico their combined efforts had big results!

  • Planted 2300 trees to restore a nature preserve
  • Restored 2 Community Centers
  • Completed 10 trail improvement projects in El Yunque National Forest (11 miles of trail!!)
  • Supported sustainable agriculture on 6 community farms
  • Mentored over 100 young people at Boys and Girls Clubs
  • Completed Marine Debris Monitoring Projects on several turtle nesting beaches
  • Restored a skateboard park in a low income community
  • Helped an animal shelter provide clean habitat and cared for animals
  • Organized community events with food and games for local youth

In Florida we helped people recover from this year's hurricanes.


Their work will continue this March in Florida, North Carolina, and Geogia.


Thank you to Drew University and Southern Utah University for their help with these projects.

In Guatemala our volunteers worked with high altitude coffee farmers and local artisans on sustainable development projects.


Thanks to Northeastern Illinois University for helping our friends in Guatemala.
