KEEPING CCISD HEALTHY

2021-2022 COVID-19 SRP Final _1_.png

2021-22 COVID-19 Protocols

While CCISD planned to open schools this year in a way that more closely aligned with life before COVID-19 rather than last school year, we are adjusting our practices based on evolving conditions. We are enthusiastic about the start of the new school year and are strongly committed to actions to promote public health.

As the Texas Education Agency (TEA) has noted, the Department of State Health Services issued a rule that provides that “school systems must exclude students from attending school in person who are actively sick with COVID-19 or who have received a positive test result for COVID-19.” Therefore, both for public health reasons and to minimize school exclusions, health precautions need to be a significant focus. The following actions will be implemented for at least the first three weeks of school. We will reassess our position at that time. Perhaps none of these actions are ideal, but they are needed to protect public health and minimize exclusions from school.

• Clear Creek ISD is strongly recommending students and staff wear face coverings indoors.

• Campus staff will separate classroom desks as much as possible.

• Our first day elementary traditions such as photographs and meet the teacher activities will be held outdoors similar to how we held those events last year.

• To limit traffic within the school buildings, we are requesting no visitors without an appointment for the first three weeks of school.

• Face coverings are also strongly recommended on CCISD school buses as social distancing is not possible. Parents are also encouraged to drive their children to/from school if possible.

Under strong consideration and communication to be forthcoming,

• CCISD may reinstitute ten COVID-19 days for staff who have tested positive for COVID-19.

• CCISD is planning a temporary and limited online learning option for elementary students.

Clear Creak ISD, with the assistance of the 2021-2022 School Opening Committee, identified instructional, operational and health practices from the 2020-2021 school year that should be added to the blank slate of pre-pandemic practices. Click here to view the 2021-2022 Return to School Plan.

CCISD has also established a health monitoring system which may require the district to implement certain health mitigation measures in stages dependent upon comprehensive data.

Cleaning, Distancing and PPE

  • Teachers will have access to district-provided hand sanitizer, alcohol wipes and cleaning supplies.
  • Frequent cleaning of high-touch areas, including restrooms and cafeterias, will occur throughout the school day by CCISD custodial staff.
  • Alcohol-based hand sanitizing stations will be located throughout all buildings, in common areas and on school buses.
  • Each campus will be cleaned nightly.
  • In the event of an active COVID-19 positive case, CCISD will conduct a deep cleaning of the affected area(s) in accordance with CDC guidelines.
  • Face coverings will be available for use.
  • Employees in need of a workplace accommodation must contact CCISD Human Resources.
  • Social distancing during breakfast and lunch will be practiced in all elementary schools. The utilization of space will be maximized to achieve this goal. Lunch will be extended from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. At this time, visitors will not be allowed for breakfast or lunch due to lack of space similar to last year.
  • Designated areas for social distancing during breakfast and lunch will be made available to students in intermediate and high schools.
  • Refillable water bottle stations are accessible at each school.

Attendance and Exemptions

  • CCISD will regularly communicate the importance of staying home if ill.
  • Parents may utilize Skyward Family Access Center to report an absence. Parents may call the campus or send in a doctor’s note to receive an excused absence for illnesses.
  • Absenteeism reports will be shared with the school nurse for health monitoring purposes.
  • Perfect attendance awards will not be presented, and attendance criteria will not be used for exam exemptions.
  • Students absent due to COVID-19 symptoms should remain home and follow CDC guidelines and CCISD illness protocols. Students will be allowed to make up assignments in accordance with CCISD grading guidelines.
  • A form has been added to the 2021-2022 Back-to-School process in Skyward Family Access for elementary parents and guardians to inform the district if they are requiring their child to wear a face covering at school. This important information will be shared with appropriate staff so that the proper use of face coverings can be monitored.

Positive COVID-19 Cases and Contact Tracing

  • As required, the Clear Creek Independent School District will report any known COVID-19 cases to the local health authority.
  • Parents may elect to keep their student home from school in the event of a positive COVID-19 case in their child’s classroom(s). The absence will be excused with a note from a parent/guardian.
  • CCISD will activate its Contact Tracing System as indicted in “Stage 2” of the Health Mitigation Protocols. Otherwise, CCISD will assist local health authorities in any contact tracing efforts as requested.
  • Students and staff members who have been fully vaccinated will not be required to quarantine if exposed to a person with COVID-19 and remain asymptomatic.
  • Students or staff members who contract COVID-19 should follow local health guidelines and/or doctor’s orders.
  • CCISD will communicate COVID-19 active cases daily through email and the District website. A separate classroom notification will be sent to parents in the event a student or staff member tests positive for COVID-19.
  • The Texas Department of Health and Human Services has updated its requirements to include a mandatory exclusion of a minimum of 10 days for students who have tested positive for COVID-19 or suspected of having COVID-19.
  • Contact tracing will remain the responsibility of local health departments and Clear Creek ISD will continue to report any known positive cases daily.

CCISD has adopted a district dress code. The dress code for each school is posted on the campus website. Click here to view the district dress code.

It is up to the campus on whether or note they allow students to utilize lockers. Please be on the lookout for emails from your principal with more information.

Transportation

Need to find your bus stop? CCISD’s school bus finder is now updated with bus stops for each level. Bus drivers will not allow Pre-K or Kindergarten students off at the bus stop unless a parent or designated adult is present. Pre-K and Kindergarten students will receive an identification card from the school. It is recommended that you take a photograph of the card and keep the image on your phone.

New Volunteer Application

Opens August 2, 2021

For the 2021-22 school year, CCISD has implemented Raptor, an improved visitor and volunteer management system. In order to volunteer on a CCISD campus this year, all new and returning volunteers must complete the new online application and successfully pass a criminal history check to be eligible. The new system will allow volunteers to create a profile, track volunteer hours, view and sign up for volunteer needs, and communicate with other volunteers and the campus.
