Dear CCISD Families and Staff,
The second semester is well underway. Before you know it, we will be celebrating seven graduation ceremonies. And already, we are planning for the following school year. The CCISD Board of Trustees just approved the 2022-2023 academic calendar.
As we have seen all over the United States, the Omicron variant has spread quickly and has impacted staffing in all industries. I am very thankful for the staff members who are stepping in to fill classes, picking up extra bus runs, and working overtime to ensure students’ needs are met. Our daily active COVID-cases within CCISD are lower than the daily active cases we saw immediately after winter vacation. Health authorities in Harris County and Galveston County are reporting that though case rates and hospitalizations are high, we appear to have passed the peak of the January wave. Trends are going in the right direction.
