66% trust their healthcare provider on virus data, poll finds: “Sixty-eight percent of Americans say they highly trust the information that the CDC provides about the virus, 66% trust their doctor or healthcare provider, and 52% said the same about their state or local government.” - Modern Healthcare

Proteomics study finds controversial drug could be COVID-19 antiviral: “An international consortium of researchers has used protein interaction studies to identify antiviral agents that could be effective against COVID-19 and they include one controversial drug.” - Modern Healthcare

Coronavirus: Patients in Florida had symptoms as early as January, 2 months before first announcement: "The novel coronavirus infected as many as 171 people in Florida as long as two months before officials announced it had come to the state, a Palm Beach Post analysis of state records shows." - Naples Daily News

AMA Launches Physician Guide for Reopening Medical Practices: “In response to states across the nation revising COVID-19 executive orders to allow elective or non-urgent medical procedures, the American Medical Association (AMA) is announcing a new resource that provides a step-by-step guide for physicians planning to reopen medical practices." - American Medical Association

CCMS Private Facebook Groups: We invite members and their office staff to join a CCMS private Facebook group for discussion and collaboration during this outbreak.
Ad Reservations for the Physician Directory Due May 15th! Reserve your ad today, and reach thousands of readers of this important local healthcare directory. FCCMS SCHOLARSHIP DEADLINE EXTENDED: Due to the COVID-19 outbreak, all FCCMS scholarship applicants for 2020 now have until June 1 to submit their applications (the previous deadline was March 31st). This includes the Dr. William Lascheid Memorial Scholarship for Medical Students, and Foundation Healthcare Scholarships. Applications can be downloaded here.
Physician Wellness article of the week : Wellness during the COVID-19 crisis
Confidential, cost-free counseling sessions with the CCMS Physician Wellness Program (operating via telehealth during the COVID-19 outbreak) are open to all CCMS physician members. Services also extended to CCMS Alliance members and non-member Collier County physicians through May. Learn more at
