Florida Named Among Top States That Would Benefit Most From Healthcare Reform: “Florida has ranked No. 2 in SmartAsset’s 'Top 10 States That Would Benefit the Most from Healthcare Reform.' For the study, SmartAsset considered nine metrics that span a range of healthcare indicators, including availability, affordability and outcomes, to uncover the states that stand to benefit the most from healthcare reform.” - Gulfshore Business Daily

Golisano Children's Hospital sees growth at its Naples location: “Golisano Children’s Hospital of Southwest Florida is expanding services in Naples and has forged a transfer agreement with the NCH Healthcare System. The agreement is for seriously ill children who are in the care of an NCH hospital yet need more specialized services available at the children’s hospital located in south Fort Myers.” - Naples Daily News

More than two dozen Florida hospitals sue opioid makers, distributors and retailers: “Physicians Regional Healthcare System in Collier County is among 27 hospitals in Florida that have filed a civil lawsuit against opioid manufacturers, distributors and retailers for their practices that contributed to significant financial harm to the hospitals, according to the complaint. The 352-page suit filed in Broward County Circuit Court alleges fraud, negligence and conspiracy (...).” - Naples Daily News

Feds reverse decision ending immigrant medical relief: “The Trump administration reversed its decision Thursday (9/19) to stop considering requests from immigrants seeking to defer deportation for medical treatment and other hardships (...). The U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services confirmed (...) it will resume considering "deferred action" requests on a discretionary, case-by-case basis, as it had done for years prior." - Modern Healthcare

The Florida Legislature is accepting registrations for physicians who will assist, with the support and cooperation of the Legislative Clinic, in providing medical services to the Senate and House during session. Each fall, Collier County Medical Society provides complimentary Annual Physician Member Directories as a public service resource to connect residents and visitors with quality healthcare in Southwest Florida. 

Copies of the Physician Member Directory are now available for pick up at the CCMS office located on the second floor of the Neighborhood Health Clinic, 88 12th Street North, unit #200 in Naples (please ring doorbell at the far north entrance facing Goodlette) from 9am-5pm Monday-Thursday, as well as several healthcare facilities, the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce, and Collier County libraries.
