NCH task force focusing on patient care and quality: “Independent physicians are included in a project at NCH Healthcare System to improve the quality of care for hospitalized patients. Preliminary data is positive, according to NCH.” - Naples Daily News

Kids Count data on Florida children shows backslide in well-being: “Florida's children have lost ground when it comes to well-being, and the state now ranks 37th compared to 34th last year, according to an annual report released Monday (6/17). The 2019 Kids Count report examines 16 measures of well-being in health, family and community, economic well-being and education.“ - Naples Daily News

Collier Commission boosts funding for David Lawrence Center to keep pace with demand: “Faced with a growing demand for mental health and addiction-related services, Collier County leaders are beefing up the county’s contributions to the nonprofit David Lawrence Center. Commissioners approved a request from the nonprofit David Lawrence Center for a year-over-year increase of $290,000 from the county’s general fund.” - Naples Daily News

Marco Island City Council greenlights medical marijuana dispensaries: “The Marco Island City Council voted Monday (6/17) in favor of a resolution that provides regulations for medical marijuana dispensing facilities on the island. The approved resolution (...) (is) subject to the same regulations as pharmacies and restrictions provided in the Florida Statutes." - Naples Daily News

The war on HIV in Florida: CDC director promotes plan to eradicate infections by 90 percent: “CDC Director Robert Redfield spent two days in Florida promoting a national program to eradicate new HIV cases. The initiative’s goal is to reduce HIV infections by 75 percent in five years and at least 90 percent in 10 years.” - Naples Daily News

Trump's transparency executive order leaves details to HHS, CMS: "Hospitals and insurers will have to disclose their prices under President Donald Trump's executive order. But the agencies will have to decide how specific the industries will have to be." - Modern Healthcare
