Dear CCMS Members,
Due to the continually increasing rates of COVID-19 infections and hospitalizations, the CCMS Board of Directors is POSTPONING CCMS events previously scheduled for August,
including the August 13th social with Lee County Medical Society and the August 19th dinner meeting on the CCMS Health Plan. Not only will this decision help keep members and their families safe during the current COVID-19 surge, it will help ensure continuity of care for patients. [Note, LCMS members may contact LCMS
about their event that will take place Aug. 13th.)
As of July 22, new case positivity in Collier was reported at 14%. Weekly case counts across all age groups for Florida are on the increase since late June, with steep increases in younger age groups. Vaccination rate for Collier residents ages 12+ was reported at 66%. CCMS continues to strongly encourage all who are eligible to become vaccinated. Read the latest CCMS Vaccine Commentary

At this time, the CCMS delegation to the FMA plans to continue attending the House of Delegates voting this weekend at the FMA Annual Meeting to represent CCMS members, while remaining masked at all times. The FMA has requested all attendees wear masks whenever possible and for all unvaccinated members to participate virtually. Your CCMS delegates will also participate virtually when possible.
Stay tuned for new dates for the August events, and tentatively save the date of Nov. 13th for the celebratory, in-person Annual Meeting that was to originally be held on July 24th. We apologize for this inconvenience, and we very much look forward to seeing you all again in person soon.
