Greetings, siblings in Christ,
|
It is hard to believe that my three-month sabbatical is nearly over. “Connection and reconnection” have been major threads of the tapestry of my time away. I
have been blessed to connect and reconnect with Jesus, with Jesus’ homeland, with God, with the Holy Spirit, with my love for singing, with my joy in nature, with taking care of my body, with family, and with friends. These are connections that sustain my spirit. Click here to see a few photographs of these (re)connections.
And I am blessed to be reconnecting with all of you! While I have delighted in the opportunities of the sabbatical, I have missed you. I will be back in the office this Monday (August 15) through Wednesday (August 17), away briefly to take Sam to his first year of college, and returning for worship on Sunday, August 21. I look forward to catching up with you on the past few months—a lot has happened in our worlds—as well as to reengaging with you in our mission to love God and neighbor as we look toward the fall. Please call or email me if you would like to set up a time to meet in person, by phone, or by Zoom.
I want to express my deep gratitude to our capable sabbatical priests for their pastoral and worship presence; to our dedicated lay ministers and leadership who carried on our work of caring for one another, our buildings, and our neighbors; to our outstanding staff for their support of these ministries; and to all of you,
for the gift of this refreshing, revitalizing time.
See you soon!
Faithfully,
Nick+

As of August 1, 2022, the solar system continues to generate savings for the Church and carbon-free energy for our power needs. The system generated about 6,160 KwH of electricity last month and has saved the Church about $2,832 so far this year.

Bible Study Begins on September 21 - Sign up today!
|
The book of Acts of the Apostles chronicles the earliest days of the Jewish movement that became Christianity. Just as Genesis provides a foundation for Judaism, Acts is the foundation for our faith. Join Wednesday Bible Study as we spend the next academic year learning about Peter,
Paul, Jesus’ brother James, the Jerusalem Council in 50 CE, and so much more. We will explore how traditional Jewish practices evolved into the prayers and rituals we know as Christians. We use a discussion format results in deeply personal, meaningful insight.
Classes will meet from Wednesday, September 21, 2022-May 24, 2023. Choose from 10-11:30 AM both in-person and on Zoom or 7-8:30 PM on Zoom.
Companion texts are free of charge and will be distributed at the first class. Contact Ali Heard at office@ccneedham.org to register for this class led by Tracy Rubin, MTS, Harvard Divinity School.
