Mardi Gras Sunday Firepit on February 27
Every parishioner of every age (and your friends!) are invited to join us Sunday night on the 27th as we celebrate Mardi Gras / Shrove Tuesday a little early, and get ready to start Lent on Ash Wednesday! We'll gather 5:30-7pm in the parking lot by the Memorial Garden around two warm fires and cook hot dogs and smores--and kids can eat and run with our light-up soccer balls! Here's the sign-up genius; rsvps will help us make sure we have enough food.
Youth Group Fundraiser for Buddy Dog
The Youth Group would appreciate your support on our first fundraiser this year! We have chosen to collect items for Buddy Dog, an animal shelter in Sudbury, MA. Please click on this link to see a list of items Buddy Dog is requesting, or stop by the church and see the posters around the Upper Parish Hall. There is a table to drop off items, labeled with a sign! If you would prefer someone to pick things up for you, please email Katie Lysaght and we will make arrangements. Any donations are due February 20th. Many thanks for your help!

Susan is donating 20% of the purchase price of any art work sold form this exhibit to Christ Episcopal Church in honor of Pam Goody, the long-time Director of Music, now retired.
Ash Wednesday Services and Ashes-to-Go
Ash Wednesday is on Wednesday, March 2. We will offer 2 services: 7:30am in the Chapel and 7:30pm on Zoom.

Ashes are available for pick up at the Church starting next Thursday, February 24.
Rector's Discretionary Fund
Years ago, the Vestry established a Rector’s Discretionary Fund, the funds from which “to be applied to such pious and charitable uses as the Rector shall determine.” (Canons of the Episcopal Church) This money is spent largely on rent, utility bills, food cards, childcare, and other basics for those in need. Recently, disbursements provided several days safe, temporary lodging for a homeless single mother of twin infants until a permanent placement was made, as well as support for the Needham Youth and Family Services Crisis Fund. Parishioners, as well as non-parishioners, are afforded the strictest confidence. Other causes are periodically supported as well—for example, gifts to organizations in honor of Church School teachers. The operative words here are "pious and charitable." The account is subject to the regular Parish Audit by an outside auditor. It is supported by generous parishioners, gifts in memory or in honor of loved ones, honoraria from weddings, baptisms, and occasional funerals. The account is currently low. If you are moved to contribute, please write a check out to Christ Church Rector’s Discretionary Fund. Thank you for your generosity.
