Pack Community,

These are unprecedented times. I truly hope each of you are taking care of yourselves and following the CDC guidelines during this time. We truly appreciate your patience as our district has had to navigate some uncharted territory and have needed a bit of time to determine the best course of action for our students.

As you know, our school district is now closed through 4/17/20, which includes spring break 4/13-4/17.  We look forward to school resuming on 4/20/20. With this said, we will move into online/digital learning on Monday 3/23/20 in an effort to keep students on-track academically in all of their coursework; this includes providing special education services.  We will have three weeks of digital learning. Facilitators of course are available M-F, 7:30-3pm and some have chosen to support students through a Google Hangout conferencing format as well.

At CCNTH we are poised for a seamless transition into digital learning at home as our students and staff are well versed in ECHO as our platform. Our PE teachers and Spanish III teacher (NHS teachers) will be using Google Classroom to provide coursework. In short, all of our teachers are adjusting their units of study to accommodate students and their at-home learning. They have all worked incredibly hard in the past few days to prepare for Monday and for their students.  I can’t begin to express how impressed I have been with their resilience and the resilience of all of our staff during this challenging time.

You will find a couple of different documents linked to this communication. These links will also be posted to our website. One is a staff listing which includes contact information, available office hours for our facilitators, and a suggested digital home learning schedule which attempts to mirror our daily schedules at CCNTH. We hope that students will use our suggested schedule to stay on track and to seek out on-line collaborative opportunities with their peers. We ask parents to help by setting up a learning space at home which will support academic success. This document is currently a fluid document as our facilitators are still providing information about their individual office hours. Links to Google Hangout opportunities will be provided in ECHO.

With respect to some unanswered questions, our counselor Mrs. Ortiz, has information to share regarding 20-21 course scheduling, college entrance exams, Cuesta/Hancock college coursework, community service, and mental wellness.  In addition, our career center technician, Mrs. Oksner has information to share with seniors seeking scholarships. Attached is the Counseling and Career Center information .

We are confident that as we support one another as a Direwolf family that we will come out of this a stronger community. We are here to assist all of our students and families during this global/local crisis. If you have questions or concerns, please contact us.

Best regards...stay safe and healthy Direwolves!
