Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy has hired Jeff Cargile Sr. as its head football coach, starting a new era for the Lion football program.
Last year, Coach Cargile served as Co-Defensive Coordinator for Cincinnati College Preparatory Academy. Before his position at CCPA, he spent 14 years at Taft High School, the last five years being the Varsity Head Coach. Each year under his leadership, the Taft football program was named league champions and made the playoffs. Additionally, he led Taft to a playoff win in 2019, the first playoff win since 1993 for the Cincinnati Public School District. His overall record while head coach at Taft was 38 -12.
Before coaching at Taft High School, Jeff Cargile Sr. served as a football coach for various high schools throughout the Cincinnati area. In addition, he has served as a defensive coordinator, offensive coordinator, defensive backs coach, running backs coach, and linebackers coach.
Jeff was born and raised in Cincinnati, attended Roger Bacon High School, and was inducted into their Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014. After high school, he attended college at The Ohio State University, where he was a three-year varsity letter winner.
