May Parent News

Hello CCPC,

Another wonderful year has come to an end! Can you believe it? It feels like just yesterday we were welcoming your little ones with big smiles, ready for a year full of fun, learning, and adventure. And here we are, at the end of another amazing school year, filled with so many memories to cherish.

Before our summers are in full swing, I would like to extend a huge thank you to all our amazing families. Your support, love, and partnership have made this year so special. Wishing you all a sunny, happy, and relaxing summer!

I'll look forward to seeing all our returning families back next fall, ready for more fun and learning! Farewell to all the graduates and other departing families as they move on. You all will forever be a part of CCPC!

Nicole

DC Diaper Bank

We extend our deepest gratitude to two of our amazing CCPC parents, Lisa Nelms and Lauren Ottenhoff, for their generous help in delivering our school’s Diaper Bank donation to the DC Diaper Bank organization.

Thanks to their kindness and commitment, the diapers and baby supplies collected during our recent drive are now in the hands of families in need throughout the DC area. It’s because of all of our CCPC families that our school can make a real impact in our local community!

Director for the Day!

Charlotte from the Chameleons class stepped into the role of Director for the Day and got an inside look at what it takes to manage a school day from behind the scenes!

From leading announcements to guiding activities, she demonstrated incredible responsibility, leadership, and a true sense of teamwork. She enjoyed a well-deserved coffee break at Bread & Chocolate!

Would your child like to be the Director for the Day next year? This experience will be up for bid at next year’s auction!

There is always a place for you at CCPC!

Extended Day 25-26SY

We offer Lunch Bunch classes to extend the school days of children in the Woodland and Creekside programs.

These classes run from noon to 2:30pm and include time for the children to eat their lunches together and enjoy extra time on the playground and in the classroom.

You can choose a 2-, 3- or 5-day option for your child's afternoon class.

We still have a few openings for the Fall!
A Fond Farewell to Departing Staff

We have such a tight-knit staff at CCPC that it is hard when staff members move on. We will miss these dedicated teachers and wish them the very best in their future endeavors.

Linda Alder, our Communications Manager and CCPC brand curator, will be departing at the end of June after 22 years of dedication to our school. Linda is moving on to the next stage of life and looking forward to more time with family.

Alissa Brawner is branching out into the entrepreneurial world and creating a children's yoga program. Alissa will still instruct yoga at CCPC.

Shannon McMahon is stepping away from CCPC to manage her many roles as a mom and community advocate.

Sophie Sperduto is moving on to pursue other ventures. We wish her all the best!

Angela Soc is leaving the classroom after 21 years at CCPC, but she will still be available as a substitute teacher for us. Angela will be enjoying time with her family during her retirement.

Do you know someone who is interested in joining our staff?

CCPC is a great place to work and we have already filled many of our staff openings with great teachers. We are so excited for you to meet them!

The strength of our staff is a direct result of the strength of our community!

So many of our teachers have been CCPC parents, CCPC nannies, or have had personal connections to our parent and teacher communities.

With that in mind, we are hoping that our remaining staff openings for next year will be filled from personal connections that already exist.

Please reach out to Nicole if you know of someone in the market who may be a good fit for a permanent position or to be a substitute in our play-based program. Maybe that person is YOU!
