March 2025

🌸 Welcome Spring! 🌸

March has been an exciting month filled with exploration, discovery, and a touch of magic! Our classrooms have been buzzing with engaging activities and joyful learning experiences as seasons shift.

The Salamanders class had an unforgettable adventure at the Smithsonian National Air & Space Museum! The children were mesmerized by the wonders of the night sky as they learned about constellations, planets, and the vastness of space. Our young astronomers marveled at the immersive experience, which brought their space learning unit to life. Thank you to our parent chaperones, who helped make this trip successful!

St. Patrick’s Day brought a sprinkle of enchantment to our school! A mischievous leprechaun visited leaving behind tiny green footprints, glittering gold coins, and plenty of giggles. The children were thrilled to go on a leprechaun hunt, searching for hidden treasures and thrilled at the magic left behind. It was a delightful way to celebrate the holiday while sparking imagination and creativity.

As we look ahead to spring, we are excited for more hands-on learning, outdoor adventures, and community events! I hope to see you all at our Annual Auction this Saturday!

New Step at the Playground Lower Gate

Thank you to Torres Landscaping and Pavers (owned by our very own Bear Class dad!) for installing a new step at the lower playground gate, fixing our sitting wall, and installing a few more commemorative bricks on our stroller pad!

Now, children can avoid the mud puddles at the lower gate!

Chevy Chase Parkway Parking

Please be patient when parking on Chevy Chase Parkway.

We’ve noticed an increase in impatient drivers. Do not park in or block the crosswalk. We know parking can be tough, don't forget there is additional street parking on Oliver Street, adjacent to the church parking lot which you can walk through and down the alley to our entrance.

Picnic Grove

We appreciate your cooperation in keeping our picnic grove and playground food-free as we deter "visitors" looking for food and shelter.

Please feel free to continue using the picnic grove for gatherings without food.

Columbarium

The columbarium is a sacred space for loved ones to visit and honor their family members.

Please respect this area and avoid entering and please let your caregivers know that children should not play there.

Spotlight On a Good Read

Now Featured in the CCPC Library!

a recommendation from

our Assistant Director, Ami Bawa

The Importance of Being Little provides a bold challenge to the conventional wisdom about early childhood, with a pragmatic program to encourage parents and teachers to rethink how and where young children learn best by taking the child’s eye view of the learning environment.

Take a moment to slow down and read about what's really best for children in this fast-paced world.

Did you know? In addition to providing a space for children to read while waiting for class to start, our CCPC library is full of resource books for parents too! Feel free to take a book home and bring it back when you're done!
