October 2025

Greetings!

Welcome to Fall! A season of transition and change, but most importantly, family. October has been spooky at CCPC as we celebrated Halloween with a festive trick-or-treating parade through our school. As you look around the hallways and classes, you will notice the hints of pumpkins, leaves, and everything fall.

I joined in the Creekside tradition for a day of excitement at Butler’s Orchard. The farm has added many engaging attractions since just last year. This field trip is always the perfect way to kick off the fall season.

This month, we started our Gross Motor classes. We welcomed Coach T from Just for Kids, and the children loved the interactive motor-development activities! We also kicked off Yoga with Ms. Alissa, and the kiddos found their Zen!

Our tours for the 2026–27 school year are already underway and will continue through February. We deeply appreciate referrals from our wonderful families, so please keep sharing your positive experiences with friends and neighbors!

Generosity Knows No Bounds

2025 Annual Fund Campaign

We are excited to extend a heartfelt invitation to you to join us in our 2025 Annual Fund campaign, Generosity Knows No Bounds. This initiative is not just a campaign; it's a commitment to nurturing the potential of every child in our community at CCPC.

Each year, the CCPC Annual Fund plays an essential role in advancing our school’s strategic initiatives, enhancing campus facilities, and deepening our engagement with the community.

Generosity encompasses the core values of our community: Resilience, creativity, exploration, kindness, and community. Your generosity not only enriches our school but also strengthens our entire community. Thank you for being such an integral part of our CCPC family.

Creekside parents are invited to join a discussion featuring a panel of current and past CCPC parents with children who attend fifteen different neighboring elementary schools.

Some questions that will be answered include...

  1. Why did you choose this school?
  2. What makes it a good fit for your child?
  3. What do you like most about the school your child is currently enrolled in?
  4. What was the application process like for the child? (IE: interviews, etc.)
  5. Is your school affiliated with any middle or high schools?

HOPE TO SEE YOU THERE!

Recommendation Forms

Just a reminder that recommendation forms should be emailed or addressed to your child's current teacher. Please allow two weeks for completion of forms.

Feel free to reach out to the School Administrator, Amy Ossi , with any process questions.

ASSISTANT TEACHER CDA UPDATE

Many of our Assistant Teachers are actively pursuing their CDA Certificates and are ready for the next steps of their CDA process.

CDA credentialing is required for Assistant Teachers in DC, and they are working hard to meet that goal.

A part of the next steps will be classroom observations by a CDA-certified observer. In preparation, we will have Assistant Teachers shadow in different age groups, and you may see assistant teachers from other classes in your child's class. We look forward to sharing ideas and supporting our staff into the next phase of credentialing!

Halloween Candy for lunch? Check the label please!
Trying to get rid of all that Halloween candy? Before you pack it for Extended Day lunch, please make sure nothing comes to school that has nuts or was processed in a plant with nuts. Most of your typical chocolate bars are not safe for school and will be sent home. Avoid this disappointment by packing nut-free candy!
