Consortium Updates

Policy, Systems, & Environmental Change Training

CCPHC hosted our second PSE Training at UC Merced on 10/23-10/24. LHD staff and CBO partners participated in shared learning for the purpose of identifying and advancing shared PSE projects. The group was able to listen in on various panel discussions, including a policy panel with Senator Anna Caballero, Assemblymember Joaquin Arambula, UC Merced Fellow Cristina Gomez-Vidal, Assistant Professor, UC Merced Maria-Elena Young and Nora Zaragoza-Yanez from Centro La Familia Advocacy Services. They were also able to hear presentations from numerous LHD county staff, UC Merced Professors, and CBO partners. Special shoutout to ChangeLab Solutions, Berkeley Media Studies Group, Cultiva La Salud, Central Valley Empowerment Alliance, Jakara Movement, California Health Collaborative, Madera Coalition for Community Justice and Healthy House Merced for sending representatives to share their expertise with attendees.

Communications Subcommittee Regional Photo Competition

CCPHC’s Communication Subcommittee launched a photo competition for the purpose of creating a database of stock photos that are representative of our region for public health messaging campaigns. Please see our winning image titled Two Worlds Coming Together!

CBO Quarterly Call

All CBO & LHD staff are invited to attend our 3rd CBO Collaboration Call on January 26th at 11:30 to 1:00. Please see the attached flyer for details and a registration link!

Healthcare Sustainability Briefs

CCPHC staff is developing briefs that highlight issues, current regional data, and recommendations as tools for work we are pursuing in this area. Please review our first and second briefs centering access to care and hospital finance and look for subsequent briefs in the coming months.

Intro to Advocacy Training

In partnership with Changelab Solutions, CCPHC is hosting a two part advocacy training for LHD staff and community partners on November 30th and December 7th from 2:00-3:00 pm. Please see the flyer for registration details - we hope to see you there!

Workforce Survey

We are currently distributing a survey to collect input on what content should be included and prioritized in a curriculum focused on careers within local public health departments. Survey will close on 20th of November.

Grant & Funding Tracking :

CCPHC would like to learn more about funding opportunities from the state or other entities so that we can develop regional strategies as appropriate. Please send grant opportunities or funding announcements that you are aware of and/or considering applying for to ccphc@mail.fresnostate.edu.

Partner & Event Updates

Stanford is actively recruiting participants for interviews for their study on wildfire impacts. They are looking for folks in Fresno or Kern County who are community members, specifically targeting firefighters, farmworkers, employers, CBOs, clinicians, health system leaders, payers, or policymakers. If you are a part of one of these groups, please see the attached flyer for additional information.

The All of Us Journey is looking forward to collaborating with CBOs from Central California to have representation from residents in our region, so don’t hesitate to contact Dr. Spezzano at Theresa.Spezzano@opr.ca.gov and Tom Bever at TBever@montagemarketinggroup.com to host them from 04/29/2024 to 06/02/2024.

Mariposa County is recruiting for a Division Director of Administrative Services. Applications are due by December 3rd.
