CCS Families In the Know

CELEBRATING HISPANIC HERITAGE AT WEST CRAVEN HIGH!

On Wednesday, September 23rd, West Craven High School brought students, families, staff, and community members together for a Hispanic Heritage Tailgate to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month!

Guests enjoyed an afternoon filled with delicious food, local vendors, music, dancing, and fellowship. All while celebrating the rich cultures and traditions represented throughout our school community.

It was a special opportunity to come together and honor the students, families, staff, and community members who help make West Craven such a wonderful place.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration possible and to all who joined in the fun!

Learning Lifesaving Skills!

A huge THANK YOU to the Twin Rivers YMCA for hosting all of our 3rd-grade students across the district for water safety lessons! W.J. Gurganus Elementary, Pictured, wrapped up this year’s sessions on a beautiful day at the Y.

It’s so rewarding to see our students learning important safety skills while building confidence in and around the water.

We are especially grateful to the wonderful YMCA volunteers who give their time to make this experience possible for our students. Thank you for investing in their safety!

HAPPY NATIONAL COACHES DAY-OCTOBER 6th!

We celebrate the incredible coaches who give it their all on and off the field, court, track, course, and beyond!

To all of our CCS coaches, THANK YOU for investing your time, energy, knowledge, and heart into our student-athletes. The lessons you teach extend far beyond the game. Through your leadership and example, you help our students learn the value of teamwork, perseverance, discipline, sportsmanship, and what it means to never give up.

Please know that your dedication and countless hours of hard work do not go unnoticed. Your impact makes a difference in the lives of our student-athletes each and every day.

And because our coaches spend so much time motivating and inspiring others, we gathered a few “Words of Wisdom” from this elite group of professionals to share!

We hope all our coaches feel appreciated today and always. Thank you for leading, encouraging, challenging, and believing in our student-athletes!

A DAY FILLED WITH LOVE, LAUGHTER & A GOOD BOOK

Tuesday, October 6th was a special day at A.H. Bangert Elementary School as they celebrated Grandparents Day with lots of love, hugs, smiles, joy, and, of course, a good book!

It was heartwarming to see Garber Church filled during three sessions, welcoming at least 400 grandparents who came to spend this special time with their grandchildren.

That’s a lot of love and a whole lot of hugs!

Some grandparents even drove more than an hour just to be there, reminding us just how special the bond between grandparents and grandchildren truly is. That connection was clear in every smile, every embrace, and every story shared today.

A very special thank you goes to our wonderful volunteer “grands” who stepped in to make sure all students had a special buddy to read with. Your kindness made the day even more meaningful.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this memorable event possible and to all of our grandparents and special guests who took the time to join us.

Today was a beautiful reminder that sometimes the most meaningful connections are made over something as simple as a good book, a cookie, a cup of lemonade, and time spent with someone you love.

These are the moments our students will remember.
