November Adoption Promotion
Those of us who know what a wonderful friend an animal can be are very thankful for the furry ones in our lives.  We hope that everyone can have the rewarding experience of having a cat in their home.  Please visit the shelter soon...we have many cats of all ages and personalities who would love to join your family.
Please visit our Facebook page for more information about our adoption promotions.   Our October adoption special is in effect through
October 31.
Visit our website to view all our cats available for adoption.
Note: our standard adoption  screening process applies to this promotion. Further, for cats age ten and older and cats with chronic medical problems we offer our Perpet-U-Care Program which provides
$250 of veterinary care services at the CCS Cat Clinic annually.
Colorado Gives Day
December 4, 2018

Colorado Gives Day is an annual statewide movement to celebrate and increase philanthropy in Colorado through online giving. For the ninth year, Community First Foundation and First Bank are partnering to present Colorado Gives Day on Tuesday, December 4, 2018. Donations are accepted through Coloradogives.org.
Colorado Gives Day
  • Colorado Gives Day is powered by Coloradogives.org,  a year-round website featuring more than 1,800 nonprofits. ColoradoGives.org encourages charitable giving by providing comprehensive, objective and up-to-date information about Colorado nonprofits and an easy way to support them online.
  • Colorado Gives Day features a $1 Million Incentive Fund. Every nonprofit receiving a donation on Colorado Gives Day receives a portion of the fund, which increases the value of every dollar donated.
Incentive Fund Key Points
  • The $1 Million Incentive Fund is a pool of dollars, provided by Community First Foundation and FirstBank, to boost every donation made through Coloradogives.org on Colorado Gives Day.
    • For example, if a nonprofit organization receives 10 percent of the total donations made on Colorado Gives Day, that same nonprofit receives 10 percent of the $1 Million Incentive Fund.
Colorado Gives Day is a very important day for Cat Care Society and the cats in our care.  It is one of our biggest fundraisers of the year.  Please help us make it a big success...schedule your donation November 1 or after, or plan to give on December 4th!
Starting November 1, 2018, donations can be scheduled early by visiting: https://www.coloradogives.org/catcaresociety/overview
  1. In the Cat Care Society page, press the Donate" button. Add your donation amount and select the "CO Gives Day" button to schedule it to process on Dec. 4th. Complete the other fields and click "add to cart."
  2. When all your scheduled donations are in the cart, continue checking out by logging in or creating a donor account, entering your payment information, and then submit.
Clinic News
Our staff has to react quickly when situations arise concerning cats and kittens in need.  Recently a man was waiting outside the shelter in the chilly weather with a tiny bundle wrapped in a towel.  He came in with a two week old kitten that he had rescued from a window well the day before.  Although the kitten ate at first, it had stopped eating and he was concerned.  Our Director of Medical Care flew into action and figured out why the kitten wasn't eating.  She showed the man how to feed and care for the "bottle baby" and provided him with supplies to get the kitten on the right track.  He brought it in recently for a recheck. His new little family member looks great and is thriving under his care!
We are so glad our staff was there to help.
A big note of appreciation to our new part time doctor, Tracy Duerksen, DVM. She has been practicing for over 30 years, and will be with us on Tuesdays.
Christmas Ornament Drive and
Hand Carved Ornament Drive
Shelter Cats - Christmas Ornament Donation Drive
Dec 1- Dec 31, 2018
Come down to the shelter this December to help a cat in need by sponsoring a shelter cat picture ornament for $10.00. Your donation will go towards the care of the cats in our shelter. Your ornament will have your name on the back, will be displayed on the CCS Christmas tree throughout December, and can then be taken home. Our goal is to have all of the cats currently in our care have sponsored Christmas ornaments this December!
You can sponsor your favorite cat directly at the shelter in December, or starting November 27th, you will be able to sponsor securely online.
Shelter Hand Carved Ornament Drive
Dec 1- Dec 31, 2018
For those who want to make a larger year end donation we have a new sponsorship program for 2018. These shelter ornaments are finely carved wooden ornaments- each with a different hand carved picture of the most common cats we see in the shelter.  Examples are a black cat, a brown tabby, a gray tabby, or a Siamese, just to name a few. The lovely ornament you select will have your name on the back and be displayed in the CCS lobby for the entire month of December.

You will then be able to take this ornament home.
Your generous sponsorship of a shelter ornament will provide financial support for key areas of the shelter. Our shelter uses an enormous amount of cat food, cat litter and medical supplies to care for the 75-100 cats in our care year round.  Your support is critical to our success!

Donation levels:
$250 Donation for any of the Blue, Orange, Gold, Red, Purple, Green, or Kitten Rooms
$250 Donation for Nibbles and Kibbles Food Bank
$500 Donation for the Grand Hallway
$1000 Donation for the entire Shelter

You can sponsor a hand carved ornament directly at the shelter in December or starting November 27th you can sponsor securely online.

Opt to Adopt Tarot
Tarot is 2 years and 2 months old and is a super sweet and cuddly boy. He loves to lie in your lap and get lots of attention. He does not care for other cats and would like to be the only kitty in the home. He was found in a feral colony, but you could tell that he had recently been abandoned.  He had definitely been around people his whole life as he was friendly and loving right away. He is a big teddy bear looking for his furrever home.
You can read more about Tarot on his Adopt-a-Pet page:
