Apple Coaching for Craven LIVE Teachers

Starting Monday, January 25, Coaching to Improve Virtual Learning for Students by Apple Learning Specialists and the Digital Learning Department will be offered biweekly through June 2021. Any teacher who is teaching Craven LIVE (100% virtual) students can sign up for a personalized coaching session during their planning periods starting from 8:00 am until 3:00 pm every hour for thirty minutes. These Apple Learning Specialist Coaches will offer educators 1:1 support and even co-teach or model with your students virtual learning activities. Teachers may attend as many times as they want!

Economics & Personal Finance Course - Professional Development
New EPF Institute Professional Development 
This is for teachers who may be assigned to teach this course starting Fall 2021. 
The NC Council on Economic Education (NCCEE) is offering two more opportunities to complete the training for the new Economics and Personal Finance Course. Each 40-hour EPF Institute will provide teachers with knowledge, skills, tips, tricks and access to thousands of web-based, no-cost resources that will prepare them to teach the new course with confidence and ease. Each EPF Institute is 40 hours of professional development. 32 hours will be via Zoom (8 days at 4 hours per day) and 8 hours will be prework and homework. The institutes will be interactive and engaging with opportunities for teachers to work with their peers on group projects. 
EPF Institute Spring Cohort 5 will meet on Wednesdays from 10:30-2:30. Cohort 5 will begin on 2/24 and run through 4/28 with the exception of the week before and the week after Easter to account for spring breaks around the state. 
EPF Institute Spring Cohort 6 will meet on Fridays from 8:00-12:00. Cohort 6 will meet beginning 2/26 and will run through 4/30, also with the exception of the week before and after Easter. 
There is no cost to attend, but space is very limited so register today!

Teacher Loan Forgiveness Update
Please share the following information with all teachers in your district to provide them the opportunity to submit a Teacher Loan Forgiveness application (if they meet the requirements). DPI Federal Program’s contact is Toni Warrick, or 984-236-2804 to verify if they qualify to apply for Teacher Loan Forgiveness.
