Chowan University is now enrolling for our 100% online (MAT) degree, and there is a new cohort starting in January. The program is 4 semesters/30 credits and will help you to earn your master's and a teaching license (if you need to earn your license). Chowan University is a NC approved Educator Preparation Program (EPP).
Students in the MAT program may be eligible for the TEACH Grant which provides up to $4000 per year to qualified students. You must apply for federal financial aid to see if you qualify.
There are five concentrations/licensure areas in the MAT - Elementary Education, Secondary Math, Secondary English, Secondary Social Studies, and Secondary Comprehensive Science. Teachers are in high demand and most of our students have jobs before they finish the program.
Fall classes begin on January 14th. Students in the MAT program can have a Residency form signed for their employer.
